This, as well as Redmond's call on the Volunteers to defend the shores of Ireland, was the cause of the breaking up of the Company and it ceased to exist. I and a few other men in the area had got into touch with members of a Volunteer Company which had been in existence in Tralee for some time previously, so we decided to reorganise the Lixnaw Company.
