SPECIAL RELEASE

Date of Release: 04 OCTOBER 2019 Reference No. 2019-038

This special release presents data on registered births, deaths and marriages by sex and city/municipality in the Province of Cavite occurring in August 2019. The report was obtained from the certificates that were transmitted by the city/municipality civil registrars to the Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing.

Province of Cavite registered a total of 5,211 live births on the month of August 2019. For the reference period, male births were higher by 221 than female births. Among the cities/municipalities in the province, City of Dasmariñas recorded the highest live births with a total of 890 babies that was shown on Table 1. However, lowest registration was recorded on the municipality of Ternate having 9 live births that was equivalent to 0.2% of the registration. Thus, as stated on Figure 1, male births comprised of 52.12% while female births covered the remaining percent of 47.88% percent.

As shown in figure 2, there were more illegitimate babies born in the province covering 66% of the registration. In addition, majority of the registration in the province were timely that was shown on figure 3. Timely registration covered 79% of the registered live births or a total of 4,127 while late registration covered 21 percent. For the whole month of August 2019 highest rate of late registration was came from the City of Bacoor having 192 late registrations.

As presented on Figure 4, births attended by Physician were the most common practice applied in the province. It was recorded on 2,298 live births or equivalent of 44% of the total births. It was followed by Midwife and Hilot/Unlicensed Midwife with total delivery of 2,123 and 607 respectively. Hence, in Figure 5 it was shown that about 85% of the total births were born in the hospital with a total of 4,425 babies. Only 770 babies were born on their own house/home.

For August 2019, the Province of Cavite recorded a total number of 1,572 fatalities. Male deaths outnumbered female deaths by two hundred sixteen. Based on Figure 1, male deaths comprised of 56.87% total deaths or a registered total of eight hundred ninety four . However, female deaths covered the remaining 43.13% or a total of six hundred seventy eight deaths.

As presented on Figure 7, majority of the deceased were died on their own home/house comprising 67% or a total number of 1,055 deaths. Thus, on figure 8 majority of the deceased in the province of Cavite were attended by None with a total of 683 deaths or equivalent of 43% percent. It was followed Public Health Officer covering the 23% or a total of 306 deaths.

Almost all of the deceased in the province was documented or registered timely covering 99% of the registration. There were only 14 deaths recorded as late, ten of those was came from municipality and city of Bacoor, Cavite City, Dasmarinas, Gen Trias, Imus, Magallanes, Naic, Silang, Tagaytay City and Trece Martires City.

For the reference period, City of Dasmariñas registered the highest rate of deaths with 335 casualties. It was followed by Imus with 158 deaths. On the other hand, municipality of Ternate got the least number of deaths. The said municipality only recorded 6 casualties.

During the reference period, the Province of Cavite recorded a total of 771 marriages. Of which, 98% were timely registered while remaining 2% was documented late. Highest late registration were posted in the City/Municipality of Alfonso, Bacoor, Dasmarinas, Gen.Trias, Silang and Tagaytay City having 2 late registrations for the month of August 2019.

This period, majority of the wedding vows were conducted at the Office, Mayor/Judge. More than half 27% of the wedding ceremonies were held at the Church.

For the whole month of August, Office, Mayor/Judge wedding was comprised of 54% of the total marriages. The said ceremony was the prevalent practice applied in the province of Cavite. It was followed by the Church with 212 marriages or equivalent of 27 percent while on Other Religious Rites there were 153 marriages or equivalent of 19 percent.

City of Bacoor had the most number of couples who undergone the process of nuptiality with a total number of one hundred seventeen marriages. It covered the 15% of the total marriage in the province. It was followed by City of Dasmarinas having a total number of 98 marriages.

However, only one wedding ceremony was conducted in the municipality of Magallanes. It was said to be the lowest marriage of the province on the month of August 2019.
