Vol. 117, No. 147 Tuesday, April 25, 2017 HAUNTED BY A DREAM A Photo Story By KC Black The Daily Collegian followed the process of the making of a student-run horror film — from casting in Willard Building, to filming in a house on Garner Street and final editing in Carnegie Building. “Indirect” was written, filmed and produced by director Ben Lapp (senior-film), producer Amanda Strassler (junior-film), and cameraman Jiashu Lim (senior-film), with editing and grip and electric by Aaron Herschlag (senior-engineering science and mechanics and film). “Through the process of creating this film, I feel really blessed to have worked with such great people,” Lapp said during the final week of the project. “Both the cast and crew always came to set and worked hard and had a great attitude. You really cannot ask much more as a director.” Greg Bennett and Jordan Cooper share a joke before getting into character, as Joyce Lim (far-right) marks the beginning of the scene. All of the house shots were filmed inside a stu- dent’s house on Garner Street. Aaron Herschlag films Paul Kane’s audition for the film “Indirect” in the Willard Building. The team filmed all auditions for later review to help in its final casting decisions.
