[Korea] Entertainment April 6, 2021 HYBE Corporation Buy (352820 KS ) (Initiate) Evolving into a major platform player TP: W340,000 Upside: 37.1% Mirae Asset Securities Co., Ltd. Jeong -yeob Park [email protected] Valuation and recommendation Initiate coverage with Buy and TP of W340,000 We derived our target market value of W13tr for HYBE Corporation (HYBE; formerly Big Hit Entertainment) by applying a P/E of 60x to our 2021-22F average net profit attributa ble to owners of the parent (W218.6bn). Our target multiple stems from our view of HYBE as the leading fan platform provider (with direct and indirect access to top global artists). Post-IPO, HYBE has traded at between 27x and 45x P/E (20% premium to the upper band of the three major domestic entertainment stocks). In our view, a re-rating is due. The company has expanded its artist portfolio through partnerships with Universal Music Group (UMG)/YG Entertainment and its 100% acquisition of Ithaca Holdings. This should allow it to further strengthen the market position of its platforms. Value of fan platform s to come Weverse/Weverse Shop: Millennials/Gen Z -driven platforms poised for exponential growth in into view profits and users In our view, the emergence of direct-to-fan platforms was inevitable, given the new normal of contactless interactions and the distinct content power/strong fan engagement of music. (Music channels account for 40% of YouTube traffic.) HYBE has brought platforms and labels into its fold at lightning speed, creating a sizable lead over potential competition in terms of technology and content.

  • Midyear Report Canada 2020
NIELSEN MUSIC / MRC DATA MIDYEAR REPORT CANADA 2020 1 Introduction HAT A DIFFERENCE A FEW MONTHS MAKE. IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT IT WASN’T even six months ago that Shakira and Jennifer Lopez performed for a tightly packed crowd of more than 60,000 people in Miami at the Super Bowl, while Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas picked up five Grammys at what turned out to be 2020’s last major music business gathering since COVID-19 halted live events. WBy Friday, March 13, the NBA and NHL had suspended play, the NCAA had canceled its spring tournaments, and theaters and live music venues had closed. As “safer at home” orders spread throughout the country, our homes became our offices, our schools, our daycares and our social hubs. Quickly and dramatically, life had changed. Our routines were disrupted, and we struggled to find balance. Still, the music industry was experiencing a strong start to the year. Audio streaming was growing through early March, up 20.9% over the same period in 2019. Total music consumption was up 10.8% in the first 10 weeks of the year. As working from home became a reality for many, some of the key music listening hours, such as during commutes, were disrupted. But one thing that has remained consistent as the pandemic has unfolded is entertainment’s place in helping consumers escape, relax and feel energized. In fact, in our recent consumer research studies, 73% of people said they would go crazy without entertainment during this time. Then, just as many communities began to slowly reopen, the country was shaken by the senseless May 25 killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police.

  • JISC/MRC Data Management Planning: Synthesis Report 1
JISC/MRC Data Management Planning: Synthesis Report Catherine Jones & Juan Bicarregui, STFC and Peter Singleton, Centre for Health Informatics and Multi-professional Education (CHIME), University College London November 2011 1. Introduction The JISC funded MRC Data Management Planning (DMP) project has examined data management planning issues in MRC-funded projects. The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and University College London, who were part of the consortium undertaking the Data Support Service (DSS) project for the MRC, carried out the work based with the DSS case studies with whom they had already built relationships. The MRC DSS project developed templates and guidance in Data Management and guidance on Data Sharing as part of its remit. The JISC/MRC DMP project asked the case studies to trial these templates and give feedback in order to refine them. This report describes that work. The Case Studies involved were the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children at the University of Bristol; the Whitehall II Study at University College London and the MRC Unit in The Gambia. 2. Background Although data management planning is applicable to all part of the MRC funding programme, the JISC/MRC DMP project focussed on Population Health studies. 2.1 Discipline description Epidemiology or population cohort studies have several unique properties when considering data management planning. To be able to realise their scientific worth, information needs to be gathered from the cohort being studied over a long period (often several decades) and analysis done over data collected at sweeps of data collection, often separated by many years. This has several significant consequences related to data management1: data need to be understandable in the long term data need to be understandable by study team members who may not have been involved in the collection.
