PROJECT SPOTLIGHT VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center is located on Anderson Lane North, north of East Main Street, across from Lowe’s. It is a one-story, 31,000 square foot medical office building with unique architectural design. The Planning Commission approved the Site Plan in September 2019, and work is close to completion. The facility is in it’s final inspection stages and should receive its Permanent Use and Occupancy Permit this month.

UPCOMING PROJECTS RECENTLY APPROVED BY THE COVID & THE HENDERSONVILLE REGIONAL PLANNING PROJECT PIPELINE COMMISSION NOTES FROM ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

There are numerous signs pointing beyond recent “COVID Fatigue” and the uncertainty associated with it. One example is the number of expansion and/or relocation projects in the Tennessee pipeline. The beginning of March was a record week for requests for information (RFI), primarily manufacturing related. It’s clear that companies are ready to move forward with CAMEL CAR WASH plans for new growth. Rockland Road, West Main Street

Projects are typically assigned a name to maintain confidentiality, and this is a list of ac- tive projects just from February: Project Almond, POPEYE’S Project Partner, Project Blue Sky, Project Wel- East Main Street, Callender Lane lington, Project Parts, Project Summit, and Pro- ject Cascade.

This list, albeit not exhaustive, represents more activity for a single week than I’ve seen in over 14 years of economic development experience. This is great news for the state, especially Middle Tennessee and the City of Hendersonville.
