As a result, the construction of the history made by the conquerors becomes valid without challenge. A change comes when nations fight wars of liberation and become independent after a long and arduous struggle. During this process, leaders of liberation movements are required to use history in order to fulfil their political ends. Therefore, attempts are made to glorify the past to counter the causes of their subjugation. A comprehensive plan is made to retrieve their lost past and reconstruct history to rediscover their traditions and values and strengthen their national identity. However, in some cases, subject nations are so much integrated to the culture of their conquerors that they lose their national identity and align themselves with foreign culture. They accept their version of history and recognize the aggressors as their heroes who had liberated them from their inefficient rulers and, after elimination of their out- dated traditions, introduced them to modern values and new ideas.

January 2011 Electi air on F N & e t w Girls' Primary Schools e e o r r k Lack of Non-Teaching Staff F FAFEN AReportbasedonMonitoringof137GovernmentGirls' PrimarySchoolsinDecember2010 Government Girls Primary Schools, monitored by FAFEN in December 2010, lack non-teaching staff and some basic necessities like clean drinking water for students. Sanitary workers were not present in 72% of the monitored schools, 32% did not have a peon and 29% lacked a security guard. The availability of the aforementioned non- teaching staff is not only essential for a clean and secure learning environment for children but also important to provide adequate support to teaching staff and the school management. Despite the fact that children are more prone to water borne diseases, basic facility of clean drinking water was not available to half (49%) of the 137 monitored schools nationwide. In addition, 46% of the monitored schools did not have the facility of staff rooms for teachers and 24% were without playgrounds. FAFEN Governance Monitors observed that one fifth of the 137 monitored schools nationwide, were not housed in proper buildings. In KP, the situation was better compared to other regions as 91% of the monitored schools were housed in proper buildings while 24% of those monitored in Punjab, 25% in Balochistan and 26% in Sindh were not. Transparency surfaced as a major issue during December, 2010 as 20 schools did not provide information about the sanctioned teaching posts and 66 declined to provide information about the sanctioned posts of non-teaching staff. Among the schools that provided information about the number of sanctioned and posted GraphA:GovernmentGirlsPrimarySchools teaching staff, it was observed that on average, MonitoredbyRegion 7% of the sanctioned teaching posts were lying FATA,1% vacant.

  • Raedc Annual Report 2016-17 Introduction
INTRODUCTION Agriculture sector is an integral part of the economy of our country. It is also a strategic priority of other developing countries for balancing export deficits and ensuring food security. To enhance and boost up agricultural production challenges of human resource development and technology transfer play a preeminent role in achievement of objective. Technology transfer mean a ‘system under which various inter-related components of technology namely “hardware” (materials such as a variety), “software” (technique, know-how, information), human ware (human ability), “orgaware” (organizational, management aspects) and the final product (including marketing) are rendered accessible to the end users”. The pace of technology transfer can only be matched if the farming community is trained/ educated at the same speed. To institutionalize this activity, RAEDC was incepted in 1991. Regional Agricultural Economic Development Centre (RAEDC), Vehari has been organizing courses, which result in capacity building of the officers of the department as well which enhance the capabilities and skills of farmers, unemployed youth, women and labour class particularly related with agriculture. The process involves need assessment of the target populations, demand of the community, unfelt needs of new concepts and technologies. Teaching methods, course contents and training material is very carefully selected with reference to target audience. Teaching methods used in training courses generally involve lecture, field visit, hands-on training, group discussions, brain storming sessions and case studies etc. During the course, each trainee not only has the opportunity to share his experiences but also benefits from the fellow trainees. RAEDC also organizes target groups seminars, workshops and conferences to address agricultural problems in the area in collaboration with agricultural oriented organizations.
