My neighbour Totoro (1988) es una película de animación japonesa dirigida por Hayao Miyazaki. Trata sobre la amistad de dos hermanas Mei y Satsuky con el espíritu del bosque Totoro. Ésta amistad las ayuda a lidiar con la enfermedad de su madre (tuberculosis).
Género: Anime Subgénero: Infantil, Fantasía Historia: Una familia que habita en Japón decide mudarse al bosque para estar cerca del hospital que puede atender a la madre de dos pequeñas: Mei y Satsuky. LA pequeña Mei, que es la hermana menor, ve una pequeña creatura; su curiosidad la lleva a conocer a Totoro, el espirítu del bosque. Estás creaturas son invisibles a la mayoría de la gente, sin embargo, eventualmente dejan que la hermana mayor, Satsuky también pueda verlas. Esta amistad las lleva a lidiar con la enfermad de la madre de las pequeñas. En la desesperación de poder ver y ayudar a su mamá, Mei huye a visitarla al hospita. Satsuky en su preocupación pide ayuda a Totoro, quien, con ayuda del Catbus, sale en búsqueda de Mei. Al poco tiempo la madre de Mei y Satsuky se recupera, y eventualmente, las niñas dejan de ver a Totoro.
