Reflecting on next Sunday’s Gospel before you come to Mass can bring Gospel Reflection so much more meaning to your experience of liturgy. Here’s the Gospel Questions for next Sunday. How does this Gospel touch your life? • Think of someone who June 12th - Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time gave you the gift of Luke 7:36-50 forgiveness. A Pharisee invited Jesus to dine with him, and he entered the Pharisee's house and reclined at table. • Think of how a burden Now there was a sinful woman in the city was lifted from you when who learned that he was at table in the house of the Pharisee. you forgave someone else. When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this he said to himself, • Think of what gift Jesus "If this man were a prophet, gave the woman in the he would know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, gospel. that she is a sinner." "Two people were in debt to a certain creditor; one owed five hundred days' wages and the other owed fifty. Since they were unable to repay the debt, he forgave it for both. Which of them will love him more?" Simon said in reply, "The one, I suppose, whose larger debt was forgiven." He said to him, "You have judged rightly."

Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? When I entered your house, you did not give me water for my feet, but she has bathed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but she has not ceased kissing my feet since the time I entered. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she anointed my feet with ointment. So I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven because she has shown great love. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little." He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven." Being a Recipient of Mercy and a Bearer of Mercy. Monsignor James McNamara, Vicar of the Central Vicariate Monday, June 6th at 7:30pm in Saint Brigid’s Church In this Extraordinary Year of Mercy God's grace is given to us in abundance. In this talk Monsignor McNamara will speak about how Pope Francis announced the Year of Mercy and what his hopes are for all of us. Monsi- gnor McNamara will talk about how we are first the recipients of mercy and then we are the bearers of mercy for others. Pope Francis invites us to allow God to surprise us. Please join us on June 6th so that you can be surprised by God.

Adult Enrichment Seminar Prayer, Spirituality and Religious Practices for Men and Women Monsignor John Martin: Tuesday, June 7, 14 and 21 Upper Room of the Schaefer Center at 7:30pm. All of us grew up with certain religious practices and understandings that accompanied those practices. As we grow older, we rarely get the opportunity to look at our spiritual relationship and accompanying spiritual practices from an adult point of view. In these interactive sessions, Father Martin will help us explore those questions as we all seek a more mature understanding of our faith. Please register by calling the Parish Center.
