April 17 & 18, 2021 3 AKC Sanctioned Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Competition Saturday, April 17, 2021 and Sunday, April 18, 2021 One combined class will be offered for puppies in each breed that are (4) four months & under (6) six months. There will be a selection of Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy. An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries in this competition. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's pro- tocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Breed standard dis- qualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Show Competition.

April 17 & 18, 2021 5 JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Novice Junior 9 & under 12 yrs • Open Junior 9 & under 12 yrs Novice Intermediate 12 & under 15 yrs • Open Intermediate 12 & under 15 yrs Novice Senior 15 & under 18 yrs • Open Senior 15 & under 18 yrs Master Class Novice Class - shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. Open Class - shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class - will be for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.
No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to another, as well as, move from Master to Open or Open to Novice if a win has been disallowed or the Junior miscalculated number of placements, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department (919) 233-9767. USE OF RAMPS A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Lagotto Romagnolo, Retrievers (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling, Spaniels (American Water), Spaniels (English Springer), Spaniels (Field), Spaniels (Welsh Springer), Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen, Standard Schnauzers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terrier, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Finnish Spitz, Entlebucher Mountain Dog, Finnish Lapphund, Icelandic Sheepdogs, Norwegian Buhund, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, Spanish Water Dogs, Norrbottenspets (Misc). At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, the following breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Spaniels (Boykin), Whippets and Miniature Bull Terriers. At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, the following breeds may be judged on the a ramp, or on a table: Mudi (Misc). The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Spaniels (Clumber), Spaniels (Sussex), Basset Hounds, Cirneco dell'Etna, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei, Chow Chows, and Keeshonden. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4– 6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions. Ramps can be used in emergency situations to judge any breed. In emergency situations where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund. Miscellaneous Breeds There will be Puppy, Bred By Exhibitor, & Open Classes for each of the Miscellaneous Breeds in each sex.
Winners from these classes will compete for Best of Breed & Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed in each breed. Each Miscellaneous Best of Breed winner shall be eligible to compete for Best in Miscellane- ous Class. All entries for Best in Miscellaneous Class shall be made after judging of the individual Miscel- laneous breed classes. In the event that the owner of a dog designated Best of Breed shall not exhibit the dog in the Best of Miscellaneous Class Competition, no other dog of the same breed shall be allowed to compete. There shall be no further competition for dogs entered in the Miscellaneous Class. Ribbons shall conform to Chapter 5, Section 2 of AKC Rules.

USE OF RAMPS A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Spaniels (Clumber), Spaniels (Sussex), Basset Hounds, Cirneco dell'Etna, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei, Chow Chows, and Keeshonden. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4– 6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions. Ramps can be used in emergency situations to judge any breed. In emergency situations where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund. April 17 & 18, 2021 13 FSS OPEN SHOW An FSS Open Show is an informal American Kennel Club sanc oned conforma on event at which Championship points are not earned but rather Cer ficate of Merit (CM) points are awarded to this introductory AKC conforma on suffix tle. The FSS Open Shows are events at which dog clubs, judges, stewards, and exhibitors and their dogs gain experience needed for licensed events.
All of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows will apply to sanc oned FSS Open Shows, except where otherwise stated in these Regula ons which are subject to amendment by the AKC Board of Directors.
• Dogs must be at least 4 months of age on the date of the event. The following breed classes will be offered at the FSS Open Shows: (All Classes Divided by Sex) • 4-6 Month Puppy Class • 6-9 Month Puppy Class • 9-12 Month Puppy Class • Bred By Exhibitor Class • Open Class
• Miscellaneous breeds will be considered equivalent to a Group. • The Miscellaneous Class winner will compete with the Group winners for Best in Show. •FSS breeds will be considered equivalent to a Group. • The Best FSS winner will compete with the Group winners for Best in Show. FSS Open Show Entry Restric ons • Dogs less than 4 months of age are ineligible to be on the grounds of licensed or member shows during AKC events. • Dogs are required to be vaccinated in accordance with their veterinarian’s protocol (including rabies vaccina on) in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. • Professional handlers or agents are only permi ed to exhibit in FSS Open Shows if they are listed as an owner of record of the dog being exhibited. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organiza on, distributed rate cards, or otherwise adver sed or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay. • No judge or any person residing in the same household with a judge shall exhibit or act as agent or handler at an FSS Open Show at which they are officia ng as judge and dogs owned wholly or in part by such judge or any member of their household shall be ineligible to be entered at the show. Subject to the foregoing, members of a judge’s immediate family who no longer reside in the same household may enter or handle a dog at a show if the judge is not officia ng over any compe on, including a group class or best in show, for which the dog is entered or may become eligible. • No dog is to be judged if it is brought into the ring bandaged, taped, glued or s tched anywhere including ears or tail. These dogs must be excused from judging but, at the judge’s discre on, may return to be judged a er the tape or bandage is removed. • The show chair is required to be a member of the show-giving club. • The show results and event service fee of $2.00 per entry must be submi ed to AKC Event Opera ons within seven (7) days of the event. • Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered in this compe on. • FSS Open shows must be judged by judges that have an AKC judges number. • Judges are expected to comply with Rules Applying to Dog Shows and Rules, Policies, and Guidelines for Conforma on Dog Show Judges except as follows: • Breed standard disqualifica ons (i.e. color, height, full den on, etc.) need not be considered in the 4-to-6 Month Puppy classes and male puppies without 2 fully descended tes cles need not be disqualified or excused in the 4-to-6 Month Puppy class but the judge’s book must describe the condi on.
14 Grand Island Kennel Club, Inc • In all other classes, male puppies without 2 fully descended tes cles need not be disqualified but should be excused and the judge’s book must describe the condi on and Cer ficate of Merit points withheld. • The speed of judging expecta on is reduced to 20 dogs per hour in order to accommodate puppies and inexperienced exhibitors. Judges should interact and encourage exhibitors in order to make their exhibi ng a posi ve experience. • Judges may ask exhibitors if they prefer to open their dog’s mouth for examina on. However judges have the authority to personally open the dog’s mouth. • No protests against dogs for height, weight or any other breed specific disqualifica on may be entertained at FSS Open Shows. • A dog with a disqualifying condi on or behavior shall not be disqualified but shall simply be excused for the day. The judge may only disqualify dogs for a acking in the ring.

The Grand Island Kennel Club, Inc. is pleased to offer Reserved Grooming. Grooming space will be available at 4:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, April 16, 2021. OPEN GROOMING WITHOUT ELECTRICITY WILL BE PROVIDED. All sizes are approximate & some spaces may be irregular. Spaces must be accepted as assigned. No electricity will be provided for free grooming.
Grooming spaces will be assigned in the order received. Reserva ons will be accepted online ONLY at h ps://gikennelclub.com/gikc-akc-show. 10 x 10 space is $35.00 If the grooming area is full, your request will be returned as me allows.
NO EXERCISE PENS ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING, INCLUDING COCKER PENS OR SIMILAR STYLE!
Public exercise pens will be provided and there is ample green space surrounding the building. Any use of private exercise pens must be completely cleaned up and properly disposed of 30 minutes a er Best In Show on Sunday.

All crates must be stacked. Any excessive use of space will be corrected by the Show Chairman. Electricity will be included in your reserva on. The Show Commi ees have the right to limit grooming equipment & exercise pens and stack crates if it becomes necessary.
No vehicles of any kind allowed in the Grooming Area.
It is recommended that proof of current rabies vaccina on be in the possession of exhibitors or handlers for all dogs at these shows. It is recommended that dogs in crates not be le una ended.

The Club reserves the right to subs tute a prize of equal or greater value. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show - None will be mailed.
All checks issued as prizes are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Lost, stolen and/or mis- placed checks will not be replaced. Checks are valid for 90 days. The Superintendent is not able to cash checks.

RV Parking is available starting Friday, April 16th, through Sunday, April 18th. These sites are full hook-up (water, sewer & electricity) with 20-30-50 AMP at each spot. There will be a second RV parking site closer to the building (in the NW Parking lot) but will not have hook-ups. You will need to indicate your preference when making your reservation. PARKING ONLY WEST OF BUILDING NEAR CHAIN LINK FENCE. ALL RV’S MUST CHECK IN UPON ARRIVAL.

CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTER- NATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS.
A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). A $3.50 AKC Recording Fee will be required for the first entry in Rally and $3.00 for each additional entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 5). A $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy. $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in FSS Open Shows. These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.
RETURNED CHECKS / INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry. The Superintendent will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash-only basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.
No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturb- ances, fire, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.
No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made.
Refunds made for cancellation of entries before the closing date will be subject to a $3.00 administrative/ processing fee per entry.
No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor the Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up the class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.
Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.
The show giving club, the Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children. PUBLICATION RIGHTS By entering this show, all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree that all rights to televise, videotape, photograph, advertise, promote and publicize or otherwise exploit this show, or the persons or animals participating in it or the results of the competition before, during or after the event, shall belong solely to The American Kennel Club and their respective assigns, including the use of the names, likenesses or biographical matter of all dogs, owners, handlers, breeders and kennels participating in the show and no such owner, handler, breeder or kennel shall allow any other party to make commercial use of any videotape or photograph of any person or animal participating in this competition.

In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. INSTRUCTIONS 1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varie es for show purposes, please designate the par c- ular variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, par -color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard). 2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed compe on: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners’ records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed compe on is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classifica on in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addi on to designa ng the class, specify the par cular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e, age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the me entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed a er the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registra on cer fi- cate indica ng that the dog is recorded in his name.
