Rock and Roll has Tender Moments too... ! Photographs by Chalkie Davies 1973-1988 ! For as long as I can remember people have suggested that I write a book, citing both my exploits in Rock and Roll from 1973-1988 and my story telling abilities. After all, with my position as staff photographer on the NME and later The Face and Arena, I collected pop stars like others collected stamps, I was not happy until I had photographed everyone who interested me. However, given that the access I had to my friends and clients was often unlimited and 24/7 I did not feel it was fair to them that I should write it all down. I refused all offers. Then in 2010 I was approached by the National Museum of Wales, they wanted to put on a retrospective of my work, this gave me a special opportunity. In 1988 I gave up Rock and Roll, I no longer enjoyed the music and, quite simply, too many of my friends had died, I feared I might be next. So I put all of my negatives into storage at a friends Studio and decided that maybe 25 years later the images you see here might be of some cultural significance, that they might be seen as more than just pictures of Rock Stars, Pop Bands and Punks. That they even might be worthy of a Museum. So when the Museum approached me three years ago with the idea of a large six month Retrospective in 2015 I agreed, and thought of doing the usual thing and making a Catalogue. -

Communications Security Policy Axel ARNBAK1 Institute for Information Law, University of Amsterdam. Berkman Center for Internet & Society, Harvard University. Center for Information Technology Policy, Princeton University. Abstract. This descriptive legal analysis maps and evaluates a four decade legacy of communications security conceptualizations in E.U. law and policy, including four legislative proposals launched in 2013. As the first comprehensive historical analysis of its kind, the paper forwards a range of new scientific contributions in a time secure electronic communications are of historically unparalleled societal, economic and political relevance. Five communications security policy cycles are identified, and their ‘security’ definitions and scope are described. These cycles are: network and information security, data protection, telecommunications, encryption and cybercrime. An evaluation of the current E.U. ‘security’ conceptualizations illuminates the underlying values at stake, the protection offered in current regulations, the formulation of six research themes and an agenda for computer science, political theory and legal research. Despite constitutional values at stake such as privacy and communications freedom and a robust computer science literature, the paper observes a deep lack of conceptual clarity and coherence in E.U. security policymaking. It then concludes that the observed conceptual ambiguity has allowed powerful stakeholders to capture, or paint E.U. network and information security policies in any colour they like. The 2013 legislative proposals in the network and information security and – critically – their interdependence will be debated well into 2015 and provide a moment of truth for E.U. -

What Shall We do Now? Good afternoon. My name is Björgvin Rúnar Leifsson and this is an episode about Pink Floyd. When the money for "Dark Side of the Moon" and "Wish You Were Here "began to flow, members of Pink Floyd considered all their financial problems solved and began to invest in various things due to advice from investment experts so they didn't have to pay sky-high taxes but in the UK, the high-income tax rate was 83% in 1977. As the boys had absolutely no knowledge whatsoever in these matters, they left it all to the experts who were so successful that in 1979 they had to leave Great Britain for a year to avoid total bankruptcy. This did not go down well with all the band members. Richard Wright who had children attending school had to leave them in the UK with their mother and missed them a lot. In fact, his marriage was on the decline, and all this did not help his mental well-being at that time. The children of the others were however much younger so they could take their families with them on this exile. In 1978, both Gilmour and Wright released solo albums. Gilmour's is simply called "David Gilmour" and among the demos he wrote was one which never went on the album but appeared considerably modified on "TheWall" with a guitar solo, that many consider the best rock guitar solo of all time. Among the musicians who helped Gilmour was Willie Wilson from Gilmour's old band, "Jokers Wild". -

Everyone is so enthralled by music that whether they are bored or they are working, music is often times the thing that they want to have playing in the background of their life. A. The wide range of genres allows people to choose the type of music they want to listen to. The music can range from soothing and light forms to the heavy metal instrumentals and vocals. Many singers and artists are working in the music industry, and many of them have served a lot to this industry. Best sellers of the artists are appreciated in the whole world. It is known know, music knows no boundaries are when a singer does a fantastic job; they become famous all across the globe. Sadly, as time goes on musicians pass away however, their legacy remains very much alive have passed, but their names are still alive. The world still listens to their music and appreciates their work. One such singer is Michael Jackson. His album Thriller broke the records and was the best seller. No one can be neat the files of the king of pop. Similarly, Pink Floyd made records by their album The Dark Side of the Moon. It was an enormous economic and critical success. Many teens are still obsessed by the songs of Pink Floyd. AC/DC gave an album called Back in Black. This was also one of the major hits of that era. All these records are still alive. -
