This book, proving that there aren't any hard feelings, is fair, well-researched, and reveals some new things even for those who've been following the band and the main man all along. This is unfortunate because it's undoubtedly that album's failure and brutal reviews deserved, the album is terribly bloated, though there are a few stellar tracks , that led to Axl's willingness to reunite with Guns' original members Duff and Slash before embarking on a record setting, 2-year world tour, the success of which would likely have made Axl at least a little more cooperative. EINSTEIN1 THE RIGHT TO SELF-DEFENCE IN NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LAW: THE ROLE OF THE IMMINENCE REQUIREMENT Onder Bakircioglu* This article explores the doctrine of self-defence within the context of the challenges directed at the imminence requirement, from the perspective of both national and international law. The article will attempt to illustrate that the requirement of imminence underlines the political character of the self-defence doctrine wherein private force may only be resorted to in the absence of institutional protection. This study will argue that the imminence rule can not merely be regarded as a "proxy" for establishing necessity; rather, the elements of imminence, necessity, and proportionality are inextricably connected to ensure that defensive force is only resorted to when national or international authorities are not in a position to prevent an illegal aggression, and that the defensive lethal force is not abused. INTRODUCTION The September 11 attacks aroused controversy as to whether anticipatory or pre-emptive self-defence 2 is allowed under customary international law, and if so, under what circumstances. Following the devastating attacks on New York and Washington, the 2002 National Security Strategy (NSS) made it clear that the United States would act unilaterally to protect its security against "emerging threats before they are fully formed."3 This approach signified a radical departure from the collective security system by the sole existing super power. Kajian ini difokuskan pada jenis-jenis idiom dan makna dari idiom yang terdapat di lirik lagu album OASIS dan Guns N’ Roses. Data diambil dari album OASIS seperti “Definitely Maybe, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory and Be Here Now” dan album dari Guns N’ Roses seperti “Appetite for Destruction, Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II. Data ini dikumpulkan menggunakan metode kualitative dengan menerapkan teknik pencatatan. Dalam hal analisis, ada dua permasalahan yang dibahas yaitu jenis-jenis idiom dijelaskan terlebih dahulu dan makna dari idiom berikutnya. Teori dari Palmer yang digunakan untuk menganalisa jenis-jenis idiom di lirik lagu. Berdasarkan teori yang dikemukakan oleh Palmer (1976) ada tiga jenis idiom yaitu phrasal verb, prepositional verb dan partial idiom yang terdapat di lirik lagu. Dan untuk menganalisa makna dari idiom yang terdapat di lirik lagu teori yang digunakan teori yang dikemukakan oleh Leech (1974), teori ini dengan sangat jelas menjelaskan bahwa jenis makna dari idiom dibagi kedalam tujuh jenis makna idiom. Makna idiom memiliki hubungan yang kuat terhadap pesan yang disampaikan dari lagu tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, terdapat tiga jenis idiom dan makna idiom di lirik lagu OASIS dan Guns N’ Roses. Kata kunci : Idioms, Jenis Idiom dan Makna Idiom 1. According to James Bowman, it was in “bad shape” most of the twentieth century. Yet, it is still with us, though hidden away in a subterranean corner. Bowman argues that “the language of honor and shame,” concepts which our forefathers recognized, has all but vanished in this century. With regard to international relations, however, the ancient ethic plays an important role in the competition for power. The term may not be often employed. Alexander Endt, the political-science theorist, for instance, fails to acknowledge its very existence in his elaborate “constructivist” understanding of foreign affairs. Yet, it is the non-rational or emotional factors that keep the spirit of national honor alive. So contends the Yale classicist Donald Kagan.
