Yes, now a tough one on original (always has been I suppose) but on a white promo surely one of the rarest around. C DARRELL BANKS OPEN THE DOOR TO YOUR CANADIAN M- 100 HEART REVILOT As rare as the above and probably the second rarest format to the UK issue. Certainly rarer than a UK London demo. This is Canadian Revilot, we held the right, to this label for many years (in fact we hold the trademark in the UK) but weren’t EVER aware that the label had a Canadian imprint. That track came out on the Canadian Quality logo we knew, but Revilot was a complete and utter surprise..... until recently. D CAROL FREDERICK I COULD’NT CARE STONEL 1003 VG++ 200 LESS WD At one time considered to be amongst the rarest of the rare and in truth not too many copies have shown up since that day. One of those records that is rarer than folks think it is.... forgotten too, so perhaps check the soundbite. E DANNY WOODS YOU HAD ME FOOLED CORRECTONE VG++ 400 1052 Later to record on Smash and Invictus this Detroit gem has long been in-demand but was missed back in the seventies whilst Damita Jo and Guy Darrell hit the turntables. Just proves that the ‘golden era’ wasn’t always glistening and shiny! A strong VG++ on this one with only a few light marks.... F EDDIE BISHOP CALL ME ABC-PARAMOUNT M- 150 10799 Such a lot of calls for this track whenever we locate a copy so, on this occasion, we would have thought we would offer it on auction especially since it also has a sticker on the label that you can see (rather than described). G THE VELVET SATINS NOTHING CAN COMPARE GENERAL VG++ 200 TO YOU AMERICAN 006 For a total non-hit this one-off recording from the Velvet Satins came out on at least three different promo designs, but the neat-looking red stock copy has always been by far the most desirable. A disc that just spells out W.I.G.A.N. H ANDY MARSHALL LOVE TRANSPLANT OF IDA 150 YOUR LOVE Great funky edged mover that on the few times it has been on EBay has gone for very little.... but it’s a rare record. Perhaps time to get a little realistic – and if the right DJ gets a copy.... then watch out pounds,euros and dollars!!! I THE TERRIFICS I’LL GET HIM BACK DIAMOND JIM 8784 VG+ 200 WD Back over to the Motor City and a label whose owner was not to be messed with from all accounts.     The group’s story starts in 1957 when Rosalind Ashford, Annette Beard and Gloria Williams formed the Del-Phis. Martha Reeves joined a couple of years later and the group signed to Checker Records in 1960 but a lack of success meant that they soon split. Martha Reeves returned to trying to build a solo career and came to the attention of William “Mickey” Stevenson at Motown, who asked her to come for an audition. She turned up on the wrong day, however, and ended up being employed as Stevenson’s secretary! Meanwhile the Del-Phis had re-formed under a new name, The Vels, and began helping out in the Motown studio with backing vocals. One of their first jobs was to back the emerging Marvin Gaye on his first hit single, “A Stubborn Kind Of Fellow”. They then caught Berry Gordy’s eye and were offered a contract with Gordy Records. At this point Williams decided to leave. The remaining trio soon came up with a new name to launch their Motown career, the Vandellas. "Come and Get These Memories" was the group’s second single, issued on Motown's Gordy Records subsidiary. It became the group's first hit single, reaching number 29 on the Billboard Pop Singles Chart and number six on the Billboard R&B Sides Singles Chart. From then on the group began to develop a signature sound completely different from the Supremes and “Come and Get These the Marvelettes. Memories” – Billboard Pop Singles Chart (No.29) Starting on the 14th September 1963, Martha Billboard R&B Side Singles Reeves & the Vandellas stayed at number one Chart (No.6) on the Billboard Hot R&B Side Singles Chart “Heat Wave” – Billboard Hot for 4 weeks and also at number one on the R&B Side Singles Chart (No.1 Cashbox R&B Singles Chart week-ending 21st - 4 Weeks) September 1963 (2 weeks) with their single Cash Box R&B Singles Chart “Heat Wave” (later changed to “(Love Is Like (No.1 – 2 weeks) A) Heat Wave” to avoid confusion with Irvine “In My Lonely Room”- Cash Cash Box R&B Singles Chart Berlin’s song), the first number one of their (No.6) career.
