Diageo announces creation of Asia Pacific region

Diageo announces today the creation of Diageo Asia Pacific as the fourth Diageo region. It will bring together the current Diageo International hub organisations in Asia, Greater China and Australia under a single regional executive committee led by the newly created role of President, Asia Pacific. John Pollaers, formerly managing director, Diageo Asia has been appointed to the position and will head Diageo’s fourth region from 1 February 2007 when the change becomes effective. John will join the Diageo Executive Committee also on 1 February 2007.

Paul Walsh, CEO Diageo, commented: ‘The creation of Asia Pacific builds on the performance delivered by the International region, which under Stuart Fletcher’s leadership, has become a key engine of growth for Diageo. We believe this reconfigured organisation gives us a better platform from which to deliver our significant top and bottom line growth expectations. It enables us to leverage the potential of our competitive position in all markets of Asia Pacific but also to build on our existing strong performance in Africa, Latin America and , and Global Travel and Middle East hubs.’

International region (Africa, Latin America & Caribbean and Global Travel &Middle East hubs) will continue to be led at Diageo Executive level by Stuart Fletcher, president, International. -ends-

4. Europe and NA respectively accounted for 33% and 38% of Diageo’s organic operating profit for the year ended 30 June 2006.
