[email protected] [email protected] 9.23.2 Municipal Profile The Town of Cuba is located along the western border of Allegany County and has a total area of 35.8 square miles. The Town was formed in 1822 from part of the Town of Friendship. In 1830, the Town of Cuba was reduced by the formation of the Town of Genesee. In 1835, the town was partitioned again to form the Town of Clarksville. According to the 2010 Census, the population of the Town of Cuba was 3,243. Cuba is bordered to the north by the Town of New Hudson, to the south by the Town of Clarksville, to the east by the Town of Friendship, and to the west by Cattaraugus County. Cuba Lake is located approximately two (2) miles north of the Village of Cuba and is the highest reservoir in Allegany County. The lake serves as a source of recreation. Oil Springs Creek and Tannery Creek are two streams that flow through the Town and the Village.
