Stage 1 – The Grand Départ (0.6miles) Route starts at Chisenhale School (main playground entrance), and head left down Chisenhale and left down Kenilworth Road. Turn left along Roman Road (keep on the pavement if it’s busy) and cycle all the way down to Driffield Road where you turn left up to the Boris Bikes. Turn left again and back to where you started.

Stage 2 – The Well Street ‘Huit’ (2.2miles) Starting at the corner of Victoria Park Road and Lammas Walk (by Mossburn Academy), cycle diagonally right to the far end of Well Street Common where Gascoyne Road meets Maynell Road. Turn left along Maynell and follow the curve until you reach Church Crescent. Turn left back into the Common and head diagonally right until you’re opposite Victoria Park Queen’s Gate (People’s Park Tavern). Turn right and head back along the edge of the Common to your starting point. Repeat.

Stage 3 – Route Grande Vitesse, la Victoria Park West Loop (1.7miles) Starting at the gates to Victoria Park by the Crown roundabout (Crown Gate East) do one lap (anti-clockwise) of the outer path of east wing of Victoria Park ending at the Royal Inn on the Park. If there’s an ice-cream van, you probably deserve a treat.

Stage 4 – The Chisenhale Serpent (0.9miles) Start at the corner of Roman Road and Kenilworth Road, cycle down it, take a right onto Chisenhale, go down Vivian Road, left onto Roman Road, up Zealand Road, right onto Chisenhale Road, down Ellesmere Road, left onto Roman Road, up Driffield Road, finishing on the corner of Driffield and Chisenhale Roads by the Boris Bikes.

Stage 5 – Vicky Park Running Track FTTT (Family Team Time Trial) 3 laps of the 400m running track. ALL family members must participate (minimum one adult, one child under 12) and work together. To submit your time, pay your entry fee on JustGiving, and add your time to the notes. NO CHEATING! The time submitted via must be of the last family member over the line. *entry fee £2. Stage 6 – Park and Petit King Of The Mountain (1 mile) Start at the corner of Bunsen Row and Grove Road (by the Victoria Park Baptist Church). Cross at the pedestrian crossing and head along Wennington Road and cut left through Wennington Green onto the canal. Head along the canal, past the Palmtree, over Mile End Road until you go under a bridge. Take a left through the fields, behind Arianna Restaurant and onto the BMX track. Do a single lap of the BMX track and then play by the two climbing frames in the park.

Stage 7 – Bow-Wickbaix (2.6miles) Starting on the canal at Gunmaker’s Gate, cycle east all the way along the canal until it ends at the bridge at White Post Lane. Turn right over the bridge and back down the cobbled ramp onto the canal. Stop, and do a 180 to turn back on yourself, and follow the canal under the bridge and along until your reach Here East on your right. If you’re hungry, this is a great palce to stop. Otherwise, keep going under the bridge and you’re in Wick Woodland. Try and find the wooden swing.

Stage 8 – Le Petit Route Grande Vitesse, Victoria Park East Loop (1.1 miles) Start at the Crown roundabout gates to Victoria Park (by the Pavillion) and cycle clockwise around the most outer path of the park, finishing back where you started.

Stage 9 – The Mini Crit de Wennington (0.2miles) 2 loops of Wennington Green - off road all the way, around the inner perimeter

Stage 10 – Mile End Park & Meath Garden Mish Mash (1.2miles) Start at the corner of Mile End Park (at the junction of Grove Road and Roman Road), cycle through the park, over the top of the Ecology Pavilion, down the hill onto the canal (just the Palm Tree), then go over the canal via the bridge, into Meath Gardens. Go out of Meath Gardens, onto Palmers Road, back onto Roman Road and up over the canal to the start of Mile End Park which was your starting point.

Stage 11 – The Cobbled Approach (1.5miles) Starting at St Barnabus Church head up Grove Road to the Crown Roundabout and turn left along Road. Turn right at the mini roundabout onto Bonner Road and go along until your reach Approach Road and the Methodist Church is directly opposite you. Turn left down Approach Road (past the Approach Tavern where you can stop off for a drink or a gander at the artwork upstairs) then right onto Russia Lane and right at the end onto Bishop’s Way. Zoom along Bishop’s Way until the T-junction with Sewardstone Road. Jump over (mind the traffic) and into the park at Bonner Gate and take a right through the park until you reach the Pavillion. Reward yourself with a fresh juice and a pastry.

Stage 12 –King Of The Mountain - Bow Fly-Over Back & forth over Bow flyover (at the top of Old Ford Road). Take a selfie with the Big Yellow Storage in the background and submit your time via JustGiving to be in with a chance of winning. *entry fee £2. Winner’s prize donated kindly by Paradise Cycles.

Stage 13 - Le Grande King of the Mountain and BMX Track Circuit (0.7miles) Starting on Clinton Road outside the Art’s Pavilion, head towards Mile End fly-over (big yellow bridge), then follow Mile End Park through to the BMX track, completing 1 circuit of the BMX track and head backwards doing the massive fly-over again before ending back where you started at the Art’s Pavilion. If you want to stay and keep practising your BMX skills then you can. Did you know the start ramp of a BMX supercross track is eight metres high – that’s the height of two male African elephants!

Stage 14 – The Marshland Waistband (2.7 miles) Start at the Hackney Marshes Centre (E9 5PF) and head along the path with the Lee river on your right hand side. Follow the path until you reach Friend’s Bridge. Turn left and follow the path through the Marshes until you reach Stoke Newington Cricket Club. Keep going until you see the river again (on your right) and follow it south until you reach Homerton Road. Stay in the park, and loop back round the Hackney Marshes Centre.

Stage 15 – The Ancient Trail of the Tredegar Conservation (2.1miles) Starting on the corner of Roman Road and Lyle Road (at Mae and Harvey Cafe), cycle down Lyle road and turn left into Viking Close and then follow the road right along Selwyn Road. Be careful at the corner as you go diagonally (left then right) to go down Coburn Road, until you reach The Morgan’s Arms. No stopping as you turn right along Morgan Street and do three laps of Tredegar Square (whatever direction you choose), finishing to cut across College Terrace and turning left along Lichfield Road until you reach Grove Road. Stay on the pavement going right up Grove, under the bridge, and turning right down Antill. At Medway turn left, then zig zag left down Strahan, right at the bottom and then right up Arbery Road before turning left back down Medway. Cross at the pedestrian crossing and go all the way up Ellesmere before turning left to reach Chisenhale Primary school on your left.

Stage 16 – Victoria Park Uber Ride (2.7miles) Full circuit of both sides of the park starting at The Royal Inn on the Park heading to the East Side first before tackling the West.

Stage 17 – Col de la Croix de la Cemetery Park (1.2miles +) Starting on Chisenhale Road, head south down Ellesmere and cross over at the pedestrian crossing, continuing down Medway until you reach Stanfield, taking a left and then right along Selwyn Road. At the end, cross diagonally (watch out for cars turning left towards you!) and down Coborn Road until your reach Mile End Road. Cross at the pedestrian crossing, and turn right and then left down Brokesley Street. At the end, turn right skirting the edges of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. Free-flow spend 20 minutes lost in the cemetery park before making your way home whatever route you like.

Stage 18 – The London Fields Breakaway (2.9miles) Starting at the Crown Roundabout head west through Vicky Park until you reach the Canal Gate. Slide onto the canal and head west, coming off the canal on Andrew’s Road and turning right down Broadway Market. Cross into London Fields and stop off briefly at the first playpark before heading up to the larger park by Pub on the Park. Head back through London Fields the way you came, turning left at Westgate Street, past Fount Nursery and crossing over Mare Street onto King Edward’s Road. Turn right down Clermont Road, and cross left then right onto Gore Road before heading back into Victoria Park and following the path to your left and round past the Piccolo playpark back to the Pavilion where you can reward yourself with a pastry.

Stage 19 – La Criterium du Lac (1 mile) 5 circuits of the East Lake in Victoria Park. Don’t fall in!

Stage 20 – The Stratford Queen Stage (3.5miles) Starting at the corner of Chisenhale and Driffield Road (by the Boris Bikes), head east along Old Ford Road and over the flyover towards Fish Island. Once over, turn left and head up the hill until you can cross the road onto the Greenway. Follow the Greenway to the end and then take the slip road off to the left, crossing the road and turning right at the end. Cycle up Sidings Street and cross the canal, turning left sharply and travelling along the canal (the water and stadium should be on your left). Follow the canal path until you reach the red climbing wall and hop off for an extra little personal climbing challenge before pushing your bike/scooter/legs up the hill into the Pleasure Gardens for a brief play. Follow the pedestrian pathway (over the River Lea) until you reach Carpenter’s Road. Turn left and follow the road to Crate Brewery, turning left just over the canal, onto the towpath. Follow the canal path until you reach Victoria Park Gunmaker’s Gate. Climb out the canal. Turn right over the bridge towards the peanut vendor and right along Old Ford Road back to your starting point.

Stage 21 – Champs Elysees Pick a destination. Get on your bike. Have fun. The Champs Elysee Stage isn’t a race, but a victory lap for completing the 21 stages in the Tour de Bow. CONGRATULATIONS.
