The conference is again filled with dynamic offenses. This season as a whole, there are plenty of solid teams, but Oklahoma and Texas look to reign supreme. Oklahoma Sooners: The Oklahoma Sooners were blown out in their season finale against Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl last season. With quarterback Landry Jones in the NFL, the quarterback position is wide open between junior Blake Bell, sophomore Kendal Thompson and freshman Trevor Knight. Bell is projected as the starter, but it is unknown what he can bring to the Sooners passing game. In two seasons, Bell was the Sooners goal line specialist and scored 24 career rushing touchdowns. However, he has not thrown for a touchdown. Running back Damien Williams brings experience to the backfield. Williams finished with 976 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Sooners return seven players to its offense, but the defense only brings back four to its unit. The defensive secondary needs a lot of holes to be filled as only junior cornerback Aaron Colvin comes back. Players to watch on offense: QB Blake Bell and RB Damien Williams Players to watch on defense: CB Aaron Colvin and DE Chuka Ndulue 4 Texas Longhorns: To Longhorn fans, last year’s 9-4 record was an ok season, but not a good or great season as it would be for many programs.

The most memo- rable for this magazine/bar owner were the Warped Tour and Wakestock, where such bands as Bad Religion, Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Closet Monster, The Trews and Crowned King had audiences in mosh-pit frenzies. At Wakestock, in Wasaga Beach, Ont., Gasoline, Fox Racing, and Bluenotes rocked so hard at their two-day private cottage party that local authorities shut down the stage after Magneta Lane and Flashlight Brown. Poor Moneen didn't get to crush the eardrums of the drunken revellers. That was day one! Day two was an even bigger party with the live music again shut down. The Reason, Moneen and Crowned King owned the patio until Alexisonfire and their crew rolled into party. Gasoline would also like to thank Chuck (see cover story) and other UN officials for making sure that the boys in Sum41 made it back to the Bovine for another cocktail, despite the nearby mortar and gunfire during their Warchild excursion. After a year of working with their music, the five piece Cavite grown pop punk band ANTHEM FOR MARIA finally launched their first album entitled ‘Brace Yourself’ last April 6 at Zibangs Bar and Grill House, Makati.
