European Castles Tours is based in Hopfen am See, just outside of Füssen in the southern part of Bavaria. Füssen is in the heart of castle country. King Ludwig’s Neuschwanstein Castle and his family’s Hohenschwangau Castle are both within 5 km (3 miles) of Füssen, and Ludwig’s second castle, Linderhof, is near as well. Astrid Baur Astrid Baur grew up in Füssen, began giving castles tours as a summer job, learned what guests expect and appreciate most, established her own company in 2004, and now counts thousands of happy clients as tour friends.
