January 23 - Rabbi Yona Reiss, Scholar in Residence The RJC is excited to welcome back Rabbi Yona Reiss as Scholar in Residence. Rabbi Reiss currently serves as the Av Beth Din of the Chicago Rabbinical Council. A musmach of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of , Rabbi Reiss also earned the distinction of Yadin Yadin. Additionally, Rabbi Reiss earned his law degree from Yale Law School. Rabbi Reiss is a former resident of Riverdale and member of our shul.

February 20 - Joshua Muravchik, Scholar in Residence The RJC is pleased to welcome Joshua Muravhchik, an adjunct professor at the DC- based Institute of World Politics and a former fellow at the Foreign Policy Institute of ’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He was formerly a fellow at the George W. Bush Institute, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, and a scholar in residence at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. Muravchik was one among of the group of writers who moved away from the political left in the 1960s and 1970s and came to be called “neoconservatives.” In 1986, a Wall Street Journal editor wrote: “Joshua Muravchik may be the most cogent and careful of the neoconservative writers on foreign policy.” Muravchik wrote in defense of neoconservative position when it became highly controversial during the years of George W. Bush’s presidency.

March 5 - Danny Ayalon, Scholar in Residence The RJC is honored to host Ambassador Daniel “Danny” Ayalon as Scholar in Residence. Danny Ayalon is an Israeli diplomat, columnist and politician. He served as Deputy Foreign Minister and a member of the Knesset for Yisrael Beitenu. He served as Israeli Ambassador to the from 2002 until 2006. He frequently writes in Israeli and international newspapers, notably in the Jerusalem Post and the Wall Street Journal.
