Voluntary aided schools Christ’s School and St Richard Reynolds Catholic High School are voluntary aided church schools. The governors are responsible for setting the admissions policy. Academies An academy is a school that is run by an academy trust and its governors and is funded entirely by central government. Grey Court, Hampton High, Orleans Park, Richmond Park Academy, Teddington, Twickenham School and Waldegrave School are all academies. Free schools Like academies, free schools are independent of the local authority and are funded directly by central government. There are two free secondary schools in Richmond. Turing House School opened in September 2015. The Richmond upon Thames School opened in September 2017.
