INTRODUCTI
1. WHEREAS:
(a) The Summer Villages of Argentia Beach, Crystal Springs, Golden Days, Beach, Ma-Me-0 Beach, Norris Beach, Poplar Bay, Silver Beach, and (referred to hereinafter as "the Parties") are neighbouring jurisdictions Province

DEFINITIO
2. For the purpose of this Agreement, the following words and terms shall have meaning
"Act" means the Emergency Management Act of Alberta, Chapter E-6.8, Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000, c.
"Director of the Regional Emergency Management Agency" means the individual (and responsible to) the Joint Committee to maintain, evaluate, update and Summer Villages of Pigeon Lake REMP, and to coordinate all emergency services used in an
"Disaster" means an event that results in serious harm to the safety, health or welfare of people, or in widespread damage
"Emergency" means an event that requires prompt coordination of action or of persons or property to protect the safety, health, or welfare of people or to limit property
"Emergency Advisory Committee" means one or more elected officials of each (local authority) appointed to advise on the development of a regional plan and
"Emergency Management Agency" means the group of individuals representing all of Authorities within the Summer Villages of Pigeon Lake, and who together act as the agent Summer Villages of Pigeon Lake Regional Emergency Management Partnership in Joint Committee's powers and duties under
"EOC" means Emergency

"Regional Emergency Management Agency" means the Summer Villages of Pigeon Emergency Management Agency as established by this Agreement and the bylaws respective Municipal Councils of the
"Regional Emergency Management Plan" means the Summer Villages of Pigeon Emergency Management Plan approved by the Joint Committee prevention/mitigation and preparedness for, response to and recovery from an disaster;
"REMP" means the Summer Villages of Pigeon Lake Regional Emergency
"Summer Villages of Pigeon Lake Emergency Management Region" means the region by the accumulated municipal boundaries of the parties to

3. The Municipal Councils of each of the Parties to this Agreement have passed bylaws an Emergency Advisory Committee (the "Committee"), Joint Committee, Emergency Management Agency. Upon issuance of a Ministerial Order pursuant 11.3(1)(b) of the Act, the partner municipalities will, through their Emergency Management Bylaws, delegate their powers and duties under the Act to Villages of Pigeon Lake
4. The Committee shall consist of municipal Councillors appointed by each of the Parties, municipality appointing one member, each of whom shall have one vote regarding coming before the Committee. Each Party shall also appoint at least one member to the Committee to attend and vote when the serving member is unable to Notwithstanding the foregoing, all Councillors of all member municipalities shall be attend Committee

SCOPE OF ANNUAL
1. SUMMER VILLAGES OF PIGEON LAKE EMERGENCY • Meetings • Plan preparation and distribution • Advertising • Miscellaneous 2. 5. SUMMER VILLAGES OF PIGEON LAKE REGIONAL EMERGENCY • Costs of emergency operations will be the responsibility of the municipality(ies) where the emergency is occurring. 6. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION/ • No additional costs are anticipated beyond staff time. 7. MITIGATION • Costs of mitigation programs will be the responsibility of the municipality(ies) where the work is occurring. 8. RECOVERY • Costs of recovery operations will be the responsibility of the municipality(ies) who have ordered the work that is occurring within their boundaries. Many aspects of disaster recovery work will be the responsibility of property owners or their insurer. Some specific recovery work may be funded by a provincial disaster recovery program governmental organization.
Summer Villages of Pigeon Lake 9 Regional Emergency Management Partnership Agreement (May 3113) FUNDING
Direct costs budgeted for operations of the Summer Villages of Pigeon Lake Management Partnership will be divided based on a per-lot ratio for the partner
The Summer Village of Ma-Me-0 Beach will act as the managing partner for payment of all budgeted expenses, as approved in the annual operating budget for the Committee, Joint Committee and Regional Emergency Management Agency during the term Agreement.
