Sing like never before, O my soul; I'll worship Your holy name. The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning, It's time to sing Your song again Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me Let me be singing when the evening comes You're rich in love and You're slow to anger Your name is great and Your heart is kind For all Your goodness I will keep on singing Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find And on that day when my strength is failing The end draws near and my time has come Still my soul will sing Your praise unending Ten thousand years and then forevermore A Mighty Fortress Is Our God Luther, Hedge (1853) | Luther (1529) http://www.hymnary.org/hymn/TH1990/92 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADamVJaXZMg A mighty fortress is our God A bulwark never failing Our helper He amid the flood Of mortal ills prevailing For still our ancient foe Doth seek to work us woe His craft and pow'r are great And armed with cruel hate On earth is not his equal Did we in our own strength confide Our striving would be losing Were not the right Man on our side The Man of God's own choosing Dost ask who that may be Christ Jesus it is He Lord Sabaoth His name From age to age the same And He must win the battle And tho' this world with devils filled Should threaten to undo us We will not fear for God hath willed His truth to triumph thru us The prince of darkness grim We tremble not for him His rage we can endure For lo his doom is sure One little word shall fell him That word above all earthly pow'rs No thanks to them abideth The Spirit and the gifts are ours Thru Him who with us sideth Let goods and kindred go This mortal life also The body they may kill God's truth abideth still His kingdom is forever Abide with Me Henry Lyte | Justin Smith (2007) http://ighymns.herokuapp.com/hymns/abide-with-me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5KsKsEu0v0 Abide with me; falls the eventide; the darkness deepens; Lord with me abide. When other helpers, fail and comforts flee, help of the helpless, abide with me. Thou on my head, in early youth did’st smile; and, though rebellious, and perverse meanwhile, Thou hast not left me, though I oft left Thee, on to the close Lord, abide with me. I need Thy presence, every passing hour. What but Thy grace, can foil the tempter's power? Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, abide with me. I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless. Ills have no weight, tears lose their bitterness. Where is thy sting death? Where grave thy victory? I triumph still, abide with me. Hold Thou Thy cross, before my closing eyes; shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies. Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee; in life, in death, Lord, abide with me. All I have is Christ! Hallelujah! Jesus is my life! Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone And live so all might see The strength to follow Your commands could never come from me Oh Father, use my ransomed life in any way You choose And let my song forever be my only boast is You All My Heart This Night Rejoices Gerhardt (1653) | Ebeling (1666) https://hymnary.org/hymn/TH1990/217 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTCnznLTZBU 1 All my heart this night rejoices as I hear far and near sweetest angel voices. "Christ is born," their choirs are singing till the air ev'rywhere now with joy is ringing. 2 Forth today the Conqu'ror goeth, who the foe, sin and woe, death and hell, o'erthroweth. God is man, man to deliver; his dear Son now is one with our blood forever.
