Through the Symposium, stakeholders can benefit from sharing innovative teaching methodologies and practices used in schools. The brief history of ISATE ISATE started in 2007 as an international academic exchange between ten colleges of technology (known as Kosen in Japan) in the Kyushu and Okinawa districts of Japan, and three polytechnics in Singapore. Its aim was to enhance the quality of engineering education of each participating school. In 2010, all other Japanese Kosen joined the Symposium under the initiative of the National Institute of Technology or NIT (previously known as INCT). In 2011, two more polytechnics from Singapore joined this international exchange effort, and in 2013, Nagaoka University of Technology and Toyohashi University of Technology also joined the symposium, helping to expand the scope of ISATE to its present state. Today, all Kosen in Japan and all polytechnics in Singapore are part of ISATE.
