    ELECTION COMMISSION OF PAKISTAN NOTIFICATION Islamabad the 28th May, 2013 No.F.6(3)/2013-Cord.-WHEREAS, Article 106 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan provides for number of seats reserved for women and Non-Muslims in the Provincial Assembly and also provides that the members to fill seats reserved for Women and non-Muslims shall be elected in accordance with law through proportional system of Political Parties’ lists of candidates on the basis of total number of general seats secured by each political party in the Provincial Assembly. AND WHEREAS, section 47A of the Representation of the People Act, 1976 provides that for the purpose of election to seats reserved for Women and non-Muslims in the National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies, the political parties contesting elections for such seats shall within the period fixed by the Election Commission for submission of nomination papers, file separate lists of their candidates in order of priority for seats reserved for Women and non-Muslims with the Chief Election Commissioner or, as he may direct, with the Provincial Election Commissioner concerned. AND WHEREAS, the political parties were required to file their lists of candidates in order of priority in respect of seats reserved for women in the National Assembly with the concerned Returning Officers by 31-03-2013. AND WHEREAS, such lists of candidates filed by the political parties with the concerned Returning Officer by 31-03-2013 are at Annex-A for information of all concerned.
