WAR Press Release V4 FINAL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE THERE’S NOTHING LIKE A GOOD WAR TO MAKE HEROES OF US ALL! Ship to Shore and Locked Groove to release long-lost vinyl soundtrack to the 1988 cult action masterpiece, TROMA’S WAR! Brooklyn, June 5, 2017 – Today, Ship to Shore PhonoCo, a New York-based independent record label, is proud to announce the upcoming release of TROMA’S WAR. Nearly 10 years in the making, the remastered, never before available soundtrack, lands on vinyl and digital in record stores nationwide and online at www.tromaswar.com on July 4th, 2017. Composed and performed by Chris DeMarco and directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, TROMA’S WAR tells the story of a group of marooned citizens who stumble upon a terrorist plot to take over the United States. With no help in sight and no way to contact reinforcements, it’s up to these ordinary people to save the world! A political satire of the glamorization of war in the 1980s, TROMA’S WAR is considered Troma’s “undiscovered masterpiece,” and the film celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2018. Released in collaboration with Locked Groove Recording Co., a Colorado-based independent record label, the original motion picture score to TROMA’S WAR has been painstakingly remastered from the original master tapes by the composer at Dreamco Music Studios in Kennesaw, GA. Featuring the complete motion picture score including cuts not used in the final film, TROMA’S WAR will be released on 140-gram red and orange “Triumphant Explosion” colored vinyl and is limited to 1000 copies worldwide. A download card containing the score along with extended cuts will be included with the vinyl release and also available separately at www.tromaswar.com. Chris DeMarco has been writing and performing music since the early 1970s, playing with the likes of Billy Joel, Tom Scholz (Boston), Dick Wagner (Alice Cooper band) and a virtual “who’s who” of legendary musicians, which culminated in the formation of his band Riff Raff, which was signed to Island Records. Chris has released five full-length albums, the latest of which, Genetic Marker, was released in 2016. Chris also composed the music for the 1989 Troma film, TOXIC AVENGER PART III: THE LAST TEMPTATION OF TOXIE, based on the music of Antonin Dvorak. Ship to Shore and Locked Groove will present a release party for TROMA’S WAR on July 11th, 2017, culminating in a rare 35mm screening of the unrated director’s cut of the film at Nitehawk Cinema (136 Metropolitan Ave. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn). Composer Chris DeMarco and co- director Lloyd Kaufman will be in attendance, signing copies of the vinyl for fans. About Ship to Shore PhonoCo. “HUMANITY (Love is in the air)” Written by Dick Wagner Performed by: Bobby Taylor and the ASU Humanity Choir Dick Wagner (1942 to 2014) was a prolific songwriter and lead guitar player, legendary for his work with Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, Aerosmith, Kiss, and many more. Dick was generous in donating his talent and time to benefit the lives of others, and in the recent years before his passing, he wrote and produced songs and projects for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the homeless of Detroit, Guitars for Vets, and to raise awareness of violence against women and children. In February 2014, Dick and Susan Michelson met with Dr. Neal Lester, founder of the Humanity 101 project at Arizona State University. Dr. Lester invited Dick to present a seminar, “An Evening with Dick Wagner.” A humanitarian by nature, Dick was so impressed by the Humanity 101 principles and objectives that he immediately wrote a song called, “Humanity (Love is in the Air).” He recorded a casual demo of the song and forwarded it to Dr. Lester. Dr. Lester loved the song and asked Dick to record the song, present and perform it as part of his planned ASU seminar. Five months later, Dick passed away unexpectedly. Dr. Lester invited Susan Michelson to be on the Advisory Board of Humanity 101. Over the course of several lunches and meetings, Dr. Lester continually expressed his interest in recording the song for ASU and Humanity 101. Two years later, Dr. Lester continued to pursue his desire to record the song. His passion for the project and the song led Susan to express that there was only one person with whom she would like to work to record the song.

"KICK OUT THE JAMS!" Detroit Rock & Roll by Ben Edmonds For our purposes, the story of Detroit rock & roll begins on September 3, 1948, when a little-known local performer named John Lee Hooker entered United Sound Studios for his first recording session. Rock & roll was still an obscure rhythm & blues catchphrase, certainly not yet a musical genre, and Hooker's career trajectory had been that of the standard-issue bluesman. A native of the Mississippi Delta, he had drifted north for the same reason that eastern Europeans and Kentucky hillbillies, Greeks and Poles and Arabs and Asians and Mexicans had all been migrating toward Michigan in waves for the first half of the 20th Century. "The Motor City it was then, with the factories and everything, and the money was flowing," Hooker told biographer Charles Shaar Murray." All the cars were being built there. Detroit was the city then. Work, work, work, work. Plenty work, good wages, good money at that time."1 He worked many of those factories, Ford and General Motors among them, and at night he plied the craft of the bluesman in bars, social clubs and at house parties. But John Lee Hooker was no ordinary bluesman, and the song he cut at the tail of his first session, "Boogie Chillen," was no ordinary blues. Accompanied only by the stomp of his right foot, his acoustic guitar hammered an insistent pattern, partially based on boogie-woogie piano, that Hooker said he learned from his stepfather back in Mississippi as "country boogie." Informed by the urgency and relentless drive of his Detroit assembly line experiences, John Lee's urban guitar boogie would become a signature color on the rock & roll palette, as readily identifiable as Bo Diddley's beat or Chuck Berry's ringing chords.

It joins three other emotionally compelling songs – “The Rise And Fall of Love”, “After You” and “Arizona Man” - HollywoodReporter.com “Every now and then, I will receive a CD that, for a lack of a better way to say it, will blow me away. While every recording I receive to consider for review comes from talented persons, occasionally I will get one from an artist whose God given talent is almost mind boggling. Such is the case with the debut recording of the Phoenix, Arizona based singer/songwriter Wensday.…‘Potential’ can be a terrible label to carry, but Wensday's potential upside is almost staggering to consider. I somehow believe she is going to live up to the big "P" word. Stay tuned, her best is yet to come.” - Tom Branson, Bluesrockers.ws She spoons, she swoons, she croons sweet tunes – Wensday is a tattooed torch-song singer who also knows how to make you move, like a Jessica Rabbit come to life. Rising like a fiery Phoenix out of the city of the same name, it’s only natural that Wensday ended up working with longtime Alice Cooper sideman Dick Wagner, since that’s where the Coop also comes from.
