The Waterloo Region Record Obituaries December 2012 BERNARDO, Manuel November 29, 2012 Location: Hamilton BERNARDO, Manuel Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Maria Emilia. Loving father of Fatima DaSilva (Joe) and grandfather of Julia. Dear brother of Antonio (Adelina), Jose (Rosa) and Carlos (Conceicao). He will also be missed by his cousin Leonor, niece Graça, his Godson Paul and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Manuel was predeceased by his sister Maria Julia. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge where the family will receive friends on Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rosary will be recited in the funeral home chapel on Sunday evening at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, Elgin Street South, Cambridge on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. CLAIR, Olive Irene November 30, 2012 Location: Kitchener CLAIR, Olive Irene Passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, November 30, 2012 at The Village of Winston Park in her 99th year. Olive was born June 5, 1914 in Berlin, (Kitchener) to Henry and Elizabeth (Smith) Oberer, the youngest of three girls. She married Wallace Clair, April 6, 1935. They had one daughter Elizabeth (Betty) Zehr. She was predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Grace (Lorne) Gingerick and Ruth (Lorne) Mosser. They began attending Scott St. Mission in 1925, then Kitchener Pentecostal Tabernacle, and presently Kitchener Gospel Temple. She was an active member in the Sunday School Choir and visitation. Olive was employed by Breithaupt Leather Company for 23 years. After spending 1 1/2 years in the office and visitation for Kitchener Gospel Temple, an opening became available with the P.A.O.C. sub- Arctic Mission in Hay River, N.W.T. She spent 14 wonderful years there. She loved the north and enjoyed trips to other foreign Mission Stations. She is survived by her daughter Betty (Gerry) Zehr, her grandchildren Geraldine "Gerrie" (Dave) Boehm, Richard (Cathy) Zehr, Cathy (Jeff) Dienesch, her great-grandchildren Jessica (Ryan), Ryan (Becky), Heather (Andrew), Nicole (Steve), Chris (Ashley), Matt (Crystal), Jordan, Josh, her great-great-grand- children Kenzie, Eden, Abigail, Zachary, Sarah, Blake, Lara and three to be born shortly. Olive will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Olive's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at the Kitchener Gospel Temple, 9 Conway Dr., Kitchener on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. Following a reception at the church, interment will take place in the First Mennonite Cemetery. DERRAUGH, Alice (nee Cox) November 24, 2012 Location: Hamilton DERRAUGH, Alice (nee Cox) Peacefully Alice passed on November 24, 2012 at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington. Predeceased by husband Jack Derraugh, she is survived by sons David and Donald and their children. She will be dearly missed by close friend Pauline Jodry of Burlington and many friends at Sandhills in Kitchener. Alice was born in Swan River, MB in 1921. She was a resident of Burlington for many years before moving to Kitchener to be near her son. Cremation has taken place as per her wishes. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cindy was involved with everything, whether it be sports, her school, her church, or her family's interest, she was always ready to help. Beloved wife to Brad; loved mom to Cecilia, Sophia, and the late Noah in infancy (2006); cherished daughter to Ed and Carol Kopp and daughter-in-law to Jim and Sharon Diebold; dear sister to Steve (Michelle). Wanda May Forsyth (nee Martens) was from Jordan, Ontario, spending most of her adult life in Kitchener/Waterloo and also Sandycove Acres and Barrie. Loving mother of Susan Garrett of Barrie, Paul Wuergler and his wife Mary of Barrie and the late Debbie Wuergler. Cherished grandmother of Emma Vreeken and Eric Wuergler. Sister of John Martens and his wife Sally of Wolfville, N.S. and Ruth Meehan of Toronto. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo. Proud grandpa of nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. James will be fondly remembered by many family members and friends. Predeceased by his brothers Burton, Wesley and his sister Mae. He was the founder of Freer's Appliance & Refrigeration Inc. in 1967.
