Afortunadamente quedaron atrás los tiempos de desconfianza con aquello de “Portugal tan cerca, tan lejos” o “dos hermanos siameses unidos por la espalda” entre otras muchas frases. Los españoles hemos podido descubrir las riquezas arquitectónicas, gastronómicas y otras muchas cosas más, gracias también al carácter amable de nuestros vecinos portugueses. Lisboa, paraíso tranviario que, aunque menguado, todavía subsiste, cuenta también con un ferrocarril metropolitano que en este año de 2019 va a cumplir 60 años. El planteamiento de la red del metro no tuvo en cuenta las necesidades actuales puesto que ha habido que modificar sensiblemente el trazado inicial en el que no se contemplaba por sus dificultades geológicas la llegada a las zonas próximas al estuario del rio Tajo (Tejo en portugués) Cais do Sodré, Terreiro do Paço y Santa Apolonia, importantes intercambiadores del sur del Área Metropolitana de Lisboa, que hoy ya cuentan con este medio de transporte tras superar los problemas que origina el nivel freático. El Metro de Lisboa tiene previstos planes de ampliación pero su detalle no es el objetivo de este trabajo, básicamente realizado consultando la página web www.metrolisboa.pt con el complemento de apuntes personales y comunicaciones particulares de amigos portugueses. Espanha e Portugal, países irmãos que compartilham o espaço geográfico da Península Ibérica, têm a fronteira mais antiga da Europa, criada em 1297. Felizmente, os tempos de desconfiança foram deixados para trás com "Portugal tão perto, tão longe" ou "dois irmãos siameses unidos pelas costas" entre muitas outras frases. Nós, espanhóis, fomos capazes de descobrir as riquezas arquitetónicas, gastronómicas e tantas outras coisas, graças também ao caráter amável dos nossos vizinhos portugueses. Lisboa, antigo paraíso de carros elétricos que, embora reduzido, ainda subiste, também possui um sistema de transporte público subterrâneo que fará 60 anos neste ano de 2019. O projecto inicial da rede do metropolitano não previa as necessidades actuais, donde terem sido necessárias, posteriormente, grandes modificações a um traçado em que a chegada a zonas próximas do estuário do rio Tejo não fora contemplada devido a dificuldades geológicas. Cais do Sodré, Terreiro do Paço e Santa Apolónia, são importantes pontos de correspondência no sul da Área Metropolitana de Lisboa, e que hoje já dispõem deste meio de transporte, ultrapassados que foram os problemas causados pelo lençol freático. O Metropolitano de Lisboa tem projetos de expansão, mas o seu detalhe não cabe no objetivo deste trabalho, basicamente feito por consulta ao site www.metrolisboa.pt/ , e complementado com notas pessoais e informações de alguns amigos portugueses.     Getting the Metro from Lisbon Airport to Oriente Station 1. Exit the Arrivals area and turn right following the signs for the Metro and Exit 2. Exit the airport at the Metro exit and turn right 3. Buy a ticket for the Metro at the ticket machine for Gare do Oriente (€1-40). You will also need to buy a Viva Viagem card costing €0.50. (Staffare on hand to assist you) 4. Take the Red line (Aeroporto - Saldanha line) to Gare do Oriente (3 stops from Lisbon Airport - approximately 10 minutes) 5. When you get offthe Metro at Gare do Oriente, turn right and follow the signs into the main terminal at the train station. Take stairs or escalatoors to one level below the top to find the Ticket Offices. The Train from Oriente to Reguengo-V Pedra Pontevel (or Santarem) 1. The best train to get is the Tomar Regional train to Reguengo (full name Reguengo-V Pedra Pontevel) which runs at least every hour, except om Sunday. (If there is a long wait for the Regional train then the faster Oporto National train to Santarem may be better) Both journeys are approximately 40 minutes. (Note - Reguengo Station is nearer to Marchanta) 2. If you arrive before 8pm at Oriente, you can purchase a ticket at the Ticket Offices. If you arrive after 8pm, you can purchase the ticket on the train from the Conductor. 3. Ask for the platform number and time of departure for your train. Staffwill help you. 4. Please ring us to let us know which train you are taking so that we can collect you from Reguengo (or Santarem) Station 5.

This large square has been Lisbon’s focal point for centuries. The attractively paved square features wave-patterned mosaics and a fountain. On the north side of Rossio is the D.Maria II National Theatre, (Teatro Nacional Dona Maria II). Rossio railway station dominates the northwest side of the square. Pay attention to the ornate façade featuring two Moorish-style horseshoe arches. A little further up on the right is a monument to the pavers who built the amazing pavements. Next, head to Praça dos Restauradores a large tree and café lined square with a soaring obelisk that commemorates the country’s liberation from Spain in 1640. As you stroll around the square on the west side you pass the Glória Funicular which goes up the hill towards Bairro Alto. Stroll around the square heading towards nearby Rua das Portas da Santo Antão, a pedestrianised street filled with excellent restaurants. Stop at Casa do Alentejo, a spectacularly restored Moorish palace, next door there is a café showcasing products from the Alentejo region, enjoy a coffee and taste some of the regional delicacies.

DOUTORA LUÍSA CAPUCHO ARRUDA 2009 RESUMO Esta dissertação - Da Cidade ao Museu e do Museu à Cidade - consiste num projecto de exposição temporária a realizar no Museu Nacional do Azulejo, tendo como base a identificação prévia de núcleos azulejares da segunda metade do século XX inscritos na cidade de Lisboa. Esta exposição encontra-se organizada em quatro núcleos: o Núcleo I corresponde às obras em azulejo incluídas no espaço da Avenida Infante Santo; o Núcleo II abarca algumas intervenções de menção existentes nas estações do Metropolitano de Lisboa; o Núcleo III respeita às obras em suporte cerâmico do Parque das Nações e o Núcleo IV concerne a outras Obras de Referência que marcaram a cidade mas que não apresentam uma relação geográfica de proximidade. Todas as obras cerâmicas que integram os núcleos, como elementos de Arte Pública, encontram-se acessíveis a todos os cidadãos com uma marca autoral forte e constituem obras de referência no campo da azulejaria dos principais artistas portugueses. O principal objectivo da exposição é causar um efeito de proximidade no visitante para assim o manter sempre consciente do lugar de contexto dos revestimentos cerâmicos evocados e promover a sua observação in situ, ou seja remetê-lo de novo para o espaço da cidade.
