He was born on July H, 1930 In Portland, the son or Sarah (McFarland} and Guy H. Lovell. Guy graduated from North Yannouth Academy In 1949. In 1954 he married Allie M. Power and together they had two children. Guy worked for over 2 t years for the Freeport, N.Y. School System as a maintenance mechanic and retired to North Yarmouth In 1985. He was a life member of the North Yarmouth Fire Department, a member of the Masonic Lodge or Durham (Acacia), eastern Star or Durham, Famlly Campers & RVers {Pine Tree Chapter) and Wescustago Grange or North Yarmouth. Guy was known tor his stereotypical appearance of a Mainer with his red suspenders, red sox and flannel shirt. Add to that his love of bean suppers, North Yannouth Are Department Fun Days, F&G Square Oandng, model railroading, playing hearts With local buddies, his patience as a talented woodworker and craftsman, his quiet nature, some Yankee thrift and Ingenuity and a few other Maine values and you'd have a good picture of him as a true Mainer through and through - ayah. Guy Is survived by his children, son, Guy H. Lovell Ill and his wife Grace of Wantagh, N.Y.; daughter Sarah E. Salvin and her husband Kevin of North Yarmouth; grandchildren Kevin Balvln Jr., Holly Salvin, Guy Lovell JV and many cousins. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 yeors, Allle, who died In July 2004. VIsiting hours will be on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, from 6-B p.m., at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, at 11 a.m., at North Yarmouth Congregational Church, comer of Route 115 & 231, North Yarmouth with the Rev. Gil Healy officiating. Burial will follow In Walnut Hill Cemetery in North Yarmouth. He was a graduate of Somerville schools and the New England College of Optometry in Bos· ton. He was a practicing optometrist in Bangor for more than 40 years, retiring in 1980. He was a life member of the Maine Optometric Association and a 50-year member of St. Andrews Lodge AF & M of Bangor. He is sur- 1 vived by his wife .of 54 years, Ruth (McKinnon) Lovering; one daughter, Victoria Henke and her husband, Do· vid of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; two granddaughters, Catherine and Cyn­ thia; two grandsons, Daniel and Christopher, all of Wisconsin. Christo­ pher'is currently serving with the U.S. Army in Saudi Arabia. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren; one sis­ ter and brother-in-law, Marion and Henry Bjornson of Arlington, Mass.; and a nephew, Chris of New Hamp­ shire.
