On top of each package price there is an additional charge of €150 translation of legal paperwork (standard documentation) required.

Step 2: Translation Procedure

Translation of legal papers

All of your UK documents need to be taken by you to the Legalization Department of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office so that an Apostille can be applied. This enables your documents to be recognized as legal public documents in Greece. All documentation needs to be certified (all originals, not copies) by the British Legalization office (come in contact with your Ministry of Foreign Affairs) with the Hague Apostille Seal. The stamp is needed for every document mentioned earlier for the authentication of the documents.

Standard Documentation 150 Euro

 Full Birth Certificate (both parties).  Certificates of No Impediment to Marriage (both parties).

Local Registrar will be able to provide you with these documents and you will need about a month for them to be issued.

Important notes: 1. In the box marked “District and Country where your marriage was solemnized” you must enter Dimos Kos, Kos Greece. 2. The Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage must not be issued more than 3 months before the day of your wedding.

After the wedding

Please note that as your Marriage Certificate will be in Greek, we do offer the translation from Greek to English as well, for 50 Euro / per document. In case you will be departing shortly after your Wedding, there will be an additional fee for a courier service to send the documents to your home address.(aprox. 25 euros) Required Legal Paperwork

Greek Government requires a number of legal documents in order for foreigner nationals to get married in Greece. Blue Lagoon Group has gathered the information and is presenting it to you. The below information corresponds to couples that are from the UK. Step 1: Standard documentation required prior to the wedding:

 Photocopies of your passports. Valid 10 year British Passports (must have six months remaining to your date of return)  Full birth certificate (both parties).  Certificate of non impediment to marriage (both parties). Local Registrar will be able to provide you with these documents and you will need about a month for it to be issued. Important note: It must not be issued more than 3 months before the day of your wedding.

Additional Documents are required if:

Step 2:

Before sending the above mentioned documents to Kos, they all need to be certified (all originals, not copies) by the British Legalization office (come in contact with your Ministry of Foreign Affairs) with the Hague Apostille Seal. The stamp is needed for every document mentioned earlier for the authentication of the documents.

Once legalized, all documents must be translated by an approved translator. You may forward all documents via registered post to Blue Lagoon Group for translation along with the two copies of your passport. This service is available to all couples getting married with us. The procedure of translating your documents though us eliminates the cost of having the translation verified at the Greek Embassy afterwards.

For the translations of the Birth Certificates as well as the Certificates of no Impediment to Marriage, the cost will be €150 (for both parties). If any additional document (Decree absolute, Deed poll etc.) required to be translated, there would be an extra charge of 50 €.

Important Notes:

 Please note that all legalized original documents as well as the translated copies must be taken to Kos Town Hall for processing.  The Marriage Certificate will also need to be translated to English upon return to the UK.  Original paperwork will be retained by the Greek Registrar.

Our head offices are at the Blue Lagoon Resort, therefore, regardless to where your Wedding will take place, all items & documents should be forwarded to the above address.

How can I book my Wedding with you? You can book your Wedding either directly with us or through TUI.

How many Wedding do you do per day? One Wedding per day takes place in all the hotels of our Group.

What days are available for a Wedding? All the days of the week are available expect from weekends.

Once at the Hotel Do we meet someone in order to discuss the Wedding Arrangements? You will be notified upon your arrival about the date and time of your meeting with your Wedding Coordinator. During your meeting you will go through all the details regarding your big day and you can make changes or last minute arrangements.

Town Hall Why do we need to go to the Town Hall? The Town Hall is where you will get legally married.

What needs to be done as preparation? You need to make sure you have gathered all the required documents prior to your arrival. If you are translating your legal documents with us you need to send them over to us at least one and a half months prior to your arrival. If you are having your documents translated with another company, you need to have them with you during your first meeting with your Wedding Coordinator.

What happens at the Town Hall? Your Wedding Coordinator will advise you the exact date and time of the meeting at the Town Hall for the signing of your legal paperwork. You need to attend the Town Hall twice. Once for filling up an application and giving your documents and once 1-2 days prior to your Ceremony at the Hotel. You need to have 2 witnesses above the age of 18. You will be required to make your own way to the Town Hall at your own expense. Your witnesses will need to be with you and you will sign paperwork in a very short procedure. Your Wedding Coordinator will be with you. The Marriage Certificate will be collected by your Wedding Coordinator at that day and forward it for Apostille. If you want we can also translate your wedding certificate for 50 euros.

Wedding day What happens on the day? Your Wedding Coordinator will meet the Groom and all the guests who will not be in the room with the Bride, approximately 1 hour before the Ceremony at the Lobby. If a photographer has been hired for the day, pictures of the Groom, Best men and all the men of the party will take place about 30mins before the ceremony and for about 15mins. Your Wedding Coordinator will come to the Bride's room with the photographer (if one is hired) approximately 15mins prior to the ceremony for some pictures in the room & the Gardens. The Bride will be picked up from the room with a golf car about 5mins before the Ceremony. If there is a gap between the end of your Ceremony & the beginning of your dinner, you may have some drinks at the nearest bar.

External guests and entry passes (for our hotels which are All - Inclusive) Can my guests who are staying in other hotels attend my Wedding? Do they have to pay? And if so, how much? Yes, your guests who are not staying in our hotel, may visit for your wedding day. There is a full day pass, valid from 09:00 until midnight and a half day pass from 14:30 until midnight. The entry pass grants visitors the full use of the All - Inclusive program. Visitors are required to show their passports or drivers licences at the reception desk.

The full day pass is valid from 09:00 until midnight and the half day pass from 14:30 until midnight and they grant our visitors the full use of the All – Inclusive program for the times stated.

Ceremony The Ceremony will be conducted in English. The Ceremony lasts for about 20 mins. What does the decoration of the Ceremony Venue include? Gazebo (depending on the area) Carpet Table with white linen and a flower arrangement in white, a silver tray with Champagne glasses and space for the rings. Chairs with white covers and either sashes or ribbons in the basic colors.* *You are welcome to bring your own items for decoration if you wish.

Extras Flowers What is included in our package? A Standard Bridal bouquet and a single Groom's buttonhole (made of Roses or Gerberas or Lilies) is included in your package. You can confirm the color and flower choice during your first meeting with your Wedding Coordinator, once you have arrived at the resort Can we upgrade? Yes, you may upgrade your Bridal bouquet with an additional cost. We need to be aware of any upgrades, prior to your arrival. Please contact our Wedding Coordinators for different options and prices.

Cake What is included in our package? A Wedding cake of 1.5 kilos with white cream is included in all our packages. What options do we have? Your cake can either be square, round or heart shaped. Can we upgrade? Yes, you may upgrade to a bigger cake with an additional cost. Can we have our cake decorated? Yes, you may bring your own decorations if you wish. Decoration such as real or sugar paste flowers or sugar paste cover come with an additional cost.

Music Can we have music for walking down the aisle? You may bring the music of your choice with you and we will be happy to provide you with a docking station with connection to a smartphone, tablet or MP3 player, for you to play your own music at no extra cost. 1 song is required for walking down the aisle and 4 - 5 songs for after the Ceremony. Is there music for our Wedding Reception? Apart from the options for entertainment with an additional charge (Greek Band, Greek Band with Dancers, Fire dancers, etc.), you may bring the music of your choice with you and we can provide you with a CD player with a connection cable for an IPod, IPhone and MP3. Can we hire a DJ? The Dj is available only at the Conference center

Photography A photographer can be hired for your big day, who will take photos before, during and after your Ceremony. We offer a variety of services, please contact our Wedding Coordinators for different options and prices.

Hairstyling & Make Up There is a Hairdresser, as well as a Make Up artist on site. Appointments can either be booked in advance, or once you have arrived at the resort. Date and time of the appointments will be confirmed during your first meeting with your Wedding Coordinator. Please contact our Wedding Coordinators for different options and prices.

Wedding Reception Where can we have our Wedding Reception? We can offer internal, as well as external venues for your Wedding Reception with an additional cost (except for when they are already included in our Wedding package). Please contact our Wedding Coordinators regarding the different options and prices. Another option would be to book one of our All - Inclusive restaurants once you have arrived at the resort with no additional charge, where you and your guests will have reserved non-decorated tables (8-10 persons) in an area used as well by other guests of the Hotel. Is there a dress code? In order to maintain an agreeable environment for our guests, we ask you to refrain from wearing shorts, chino shorts, flip flops, slippers or sandals in all our Restaurants during dinner. What does the charge for the Wedding Reception include? Is there any decoration?
