Jim founded the AppleSox Baseball club in 2000. His interest in baseball goes back to fond childhood memories of attending Rainiers games at Sick’s Stadium in Seattle. He has been a longtime Wenatchee resident and has started several businesses over the years including two radio stations, three business newspapers, a pub, club music DJ services, a hydroplane racing team and more. Ken has been the assistant general manager of the AppleSox since 2006. He was raised in Coulee City and attended . Before joining the AppleSox, he spent seven years as the superintendent of the Sun Lakes Golf Course & Resort. Prior to that, he worked at Mission Ridge. He lives in Waterville with his wife and two children.

Trevor, a student at The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at State University, has worked with the AppleSox since February, 2014. With experience as a play-by-play broadcaster for wsucougars.com, he has called soccer, volleyball, and baseball games at the Pac-12 level. During the 2016 offseason, he traveled to the Dominican Republic where he studied Spanish. He is a native of Kent, Wash.

Second-year head coach AJ Proszek, was named the third head coach in AppleSox history, Aug. 14, 2014. He took the reigns from 14-year skipper Ed Knaggs after Knaggs stepped away from WCL baseball. Proszek was the acting bench coach in two AppleSox games in 2014, and was the club’s pitching coach during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He also pitched in the West Coast League for the Spokane Riverhawks. Proszek grew up playing baseball in Chewelah, Wash., about 40 miles north of Spo- kane. A three-sport athlete, he was a member of Jenkins High School’s 2005 graduating class, and was also a decorated WIAA 2A pitcher. Prior to his senior year, he was also a tight end on the school’s football team. He also played . Proszek posted a 3.67 ERA in 2009 and was 2-1 with 13 appearances and four starts. He threw 49 frames, and held opponents to a .291 average. He struck out 25 opposing hitters. In 2009, Proszek was selected in the 38th round of the June MLB Amateur Draft by the . Proszek spent three years in the Giants’ minor league system, and finished his professional career in Advanced-A, with the San Jose Giants and at the rookie level with the AZL Giants. In 2009 and 2010, Proszek pitched for the AZL Giants in rookie class ball. He was 2-0 out of the gates for the Giants and sported a 4.24 ERA through 13 games and four starts. He worked 23 1/3 innings and struck out 26 while walking just eight. He again opened the 2010 season at the Utah Valley. He hurled seven innings and struck rookie level with the AZL Giants. Pro- szek was called up to San Jose later that year, and was 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA. He made seven relief ap- pearances over 9 1/3 innings and struck out nine, while walking five. All told, Proszek was 4-2 in three minor league seasons and finished with a 5.11 ERA. He appeared in 49 games, started four, and worked a total of 79 1/3 innings. He tossed 80 strikeouts and walked 22 hitters. An accurate pitcher, his strike- out-to-walk ratio was better than 4:1.

ASSISTANT COACHES KYLE HUNT POSITION: Assistan coach, former shortstop HOMETOWN: Mission Viejo, Calif. COLLEGE: Nevada (Reno) BATTED: Switch THREW: Right EXPERIENCE: 1st Season HIRED: May 1, 2016 Hunt is entering his first season as an assistant coach with the AppleSox in 2016. He currently serves as an undergraduate assistant coach for the University of Nevada, Reno. He lettered at Nevada from 2012-15 and played in 210 career games in that span. He capped his career by start-ing in 52 games as a senior in 2015, leading the team to 41 wins and its first Mountain West championship in program history. He played shortstop for the Wolf Pack and posted a .244 average with 161 hits, 109 runs, 86 RBI and 24 stolen bases in his collegiate career. He is originally from Mission Viejo, Calif.

COLTON LOOMIS POSITION: Assistant coach, former pitcher HOMETOWN: Casmere, Wash. COLLEGE: Northwest Nazarene BATTED: Right THREW: Right EXPERIENCE: 1st Season HIRED: May 1, 2016 Loomis is beginning his coaching career with the AppleSox this sum-mer after having just wrapped up his time as a college baseball player at Northwest Nazarene University. The Cash- mere native joins the team’s coaching staff after having played for the AppleSox the last two sea-sons. This spring at he threw a no-hitter, which was just the fifth in the 70-year history of NNU baseball. As a senior at Cashmere High School in 2012 he was named the 1A/B State Player of the Year by the Washington Baseball Coaches Association and helped lead the Bull- dogs to a state championship.
