VOLUME 6, NUMBER 13 FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 1964 TEN CENTS PRESIDENT'S ECONOMY PROGRAM GETTING P.O. HELP Effective May 4, new postal re- gulations designed to cui 12,7 million dollars off the present cost of operations will be carried out in ever/ hamlet and citv a- cross the U.S.A. In line with President Johnson's economy effort the Post Office will do its share to cut governmental co3ts and services. New regulations will not affect ' or Impede delivery of first class mall or special deliveries. Postmaster Nicholas Caruso of Hoboken Post Office said the savings would be effected through curtailment of certain services. No parcel post packages will be accepted for mailing on Wednes- days. No Money Orders will be sold on Saturdays. The consoli- : dation of various windows on Saturday will bring about further economy. These simple adjust- ments carried out In all post , offices in the country will mean a savings of 12.7 million dollars. Postmaster Caruso assures the people of Hoboken that no essen- tial services will be affected. There will be no change In home or special delivery services. The new postal regulation Is but one of many economies pro- vided for in the president's Fedr era! Income lax Cut.
