You can read about the AGM with the HRCC President’s annual report, the Christmas dinner was fantastic and it is covered here, race reports from Claude Ciccotelli and Mike Gehde, a farewell by race driver Bill Norman and sadly a tribute following the passing of motorsport legend John Harvey. But wait there’s more…. Well, a flyer to remind everyone that the February TTT & SuperSprint weekend is not for away with entries expected to open late Dec or early Jan. And another reminder that membership for 2021 is due for renewal Wishing you all compliments of the season. Find us on:facebook 3 www.hrcc.org.au HRCCQ PRESiDENT’S ANNUAL REPORT As delivered at the 2020 AGM Good evening to you all. Around about a year ago I stood before you at our 2019 AGM meeting and outlined the following for 2020 in the President’s Report. Our events calendar in 2020 is looking as robust as ever, we will again run Triple T Day and Sprints in February Autumn Historic Warwick in May Winter Noosa Hillclimb in June Historic Queensland in July Summer Noosa Hillclimb in November As they say, the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry Covid-19 or rather government responses world-wide to the virus put paid to a great deal of motorsport locally, nationally, and internationally. Regardless, we managed to get two events done this year, Triple T Day and Sprints in February, and our recent “No Frills Historic Warwick.” Now it must be recognised that these events would not have occurred without the determination and bloody hard work of the HRCC management and race committees. And I might add, their partners that support them and support our club, on an ongoing and often unrecognised basis. A hell of a lot of work went on behind the scenes for the last event, just making it happen. In particular, the Covid-19 compliance. They all deserve a big round of applause for their efforts. Now this year the HRCC Management Committee decided not to let this enforced hiatus put club’s visions on hold. As you are aware, we asked members for comments on 10 objectives we believed are necessary to move the club forward in the 21st century. We received great positive and supportive feedback and responses to the suggestions from members. Well done club! To recount these objectives • A Parts and Service Reference Booklet for members and sponsors. • Identify and appoint a suitable club patron. • Sponsor a charity to improve our clubs standing in the community. • To establish and implement HRCC Management Code of Conduct. • To address the short and long term financial security for the club. • The diversification of our club membership for the future of historic motor sport, to grow we need to encourage younger competitors and female competitors, as well as those who have been traditionally interested in the sport. • Obtain government participation and promotion in out events and processes. • Establish a base for our club with HRCC clubrooms, preferably one that earns income and can meet our needs for storage and administration. • Increase events and competitor numbers. • Develop new and expand stakeholder partnerships. Now I could talk for hours on each one, but you will be pleased to know I will not. Nearly all of these objectives have commenced in one form or another, and you should, if you have read Ian Welsh’s great work in the Historic Torque be aware that the well-known and respected grandfather of Australian Motorsport Mr.

  • The HSRCA Newsletter No19
The HSRCA 1960s Racing Cars Groups M & O Newsletter No19 July 2012 Ed Holly HSRCA Registrar [email protected] The views expressed in this newsletter are not necessarily those of the Historic Sports and Racing Car Association, the HSRCA, nor that of the editor. The newsletter exists for the benefit of all those who have an interest in the 1960s racing cars, and especially the owners and drivers of these wonderful machines. Welcome to the Winter edition of our newsletter. As you can see our Groups now have a logo – a badge that we can proudly wear on our cars. The design was commissioned with Michael Menzies of Audacitycreative with the brief to produce something that emphasizes our Group designation of M and O, and shows a typical car from the 1960s period, which was very early on was dominated by the rear engine car. Michael did the 2006 Tasman Revival website for us. If you look closely at the car shown, it has a bit of all the major Marques of that period, Lotus, Brabham, etc, and yet you can see a bit of the home grown cars too, like Elfin and Rennmax and then again maybe even the Neal Ford Mk2 or Delta. One hopes that it will in time adorn every eligible M and O logbooked car and maybe a few within the 1960s timeframe cars that compete here from overseas too at the Tasman Revival. A quantity of these will be printed by the kind offer of Bruce Mansell and will be at Wakefield Park in September.

The HSRCA Groups M and O Racing Newsletter No.14 April 2011 Ed Holly (Registrar) Welcome to the first M and O Racing newsletter for 2011. It’s just into April now with 3 months of the year already down the tube, but we have already had a number of events as reported here. Firstly there was our meeting at Wakefield Park at the end of February. I must confess that I did not run at this meeting as it is often quite hot, in fact at the equivalent meeting 2 years ago, the temperatures were around 45 degrees, this weekend being one of Australia’s blackest with the bushfires in Victoria claiming 173 lives. More recently the VHRR held their huge meeting at Phillip Island. There was a very good turnout of our cars amongst the 500 or so entries this wonderful venue attracts every year. Also to report on is the New Zealand component of the biennial Tasman Revival. This was the first event that the Kiwis have run that is in sync with our own event at Eastern Creek. There have been a dearth of M and O racing cars that have changed hands, or are on the market, showing a very healthy interest in our fabulous cars from the best era of motorsport ever and this will be covered in the Pit Gossip section. Wakefield Park 26 & 27 February . Firstly this meeting saw the debut into Historic Racing of Herb Neal’s wonderful Neal Ford Mk2. A great shot of the Neal Ford Mk2 at the meeting ….

The HSRCA Groups M and O Racing Register – Newsletter No.15 Group M 1961 to 1965 Group O 1966 to 1969 By Ed Holly Registrar - [email protected] Welcome to the 2nd M and O newsletter for 2011. The Historic Racing scene has been well catered for in the last 3 months with meetings at Morgan Park, Mallala, Winton, Lakeside and Eastern Creek, and yes this is the 15th Newsletter ! Interest in the M and O racing category continues to be strong, and the ex Andrew Fellowes‟ Brabham BT23C FVA in the hands of Damon Hancock has added another car to the very pointy ends of our grids. Once again John Bowe showed how much he likes being without wings, taking the Trevor Simpson owned Brabham BT23B onto the podium in every race at our Winter Eastern Creek meeting, as was the Brabham BT21C of Les Wright, 3 times with Les at the wheel and in the last event with Ross Hodgson sampling it. Also in the newsletter are notes about - the next Tasman Revival and its Patron, Frank Matich – a follow-up on F1 in schools with the help of the race-bearing company, ACL and a contact there – a newly found aluminum repairer and fabricator – a list of Brabham/MRD employees from the mid to late 1960s – a note from our NZ counterparts about their event in 2013 which will follow our Tasman Revival – some Group Gossip – plus other relevant happenings. But before we get too far, Herb Neal will do anything to get on the front page as the Peter Schell photo below shows.
