MIDTOWN COLLECTIVE IS A GROUP OF TOP-TIER LUXURY REAL ESTATE BROKERS WHO DELIVER SUPERIOR SERVICE TO THEIR CLIENTS. STG Offers New Digital Education Program

On January 24, Seattle Theatre Group hosted 2,511 students from 49 schools and community organizations serving Title 1 students at The Paramount for a special underwritten student matinee performance of Dear Evan Hansen! Working with our partners from Melodic Caring Project, we were also able to offer a live talkback with the cast that was streamed to schools on January 28. This provided an opportunity for students to talk with the cast about the relevant themes in the show.

Sponsored in part by Premera and Columbia Bank, this matinee was the culmination of a new digital education program titled Power to Inspire, which required students to create a piece of art inspired by one of the show’s songs titled “You Will Be Found.” Students were asked to listen to the song, document their initial thoughts and feelings, write a poem or letter based on those reactions, and then create a piece of digital art inspired by their writing. One art project from each school was then selected to be posted on STG’s website and social media channels.

With a goal to further develop collaborative and critical thinking skills and a greater appreciation for the arts, the program, which focused on responsibility and awareness around social media and growing up in the digital age, allowed students to engage in healthy conversations regarding human connection and personal identity.

Your contribution makes this kind of program possible. STG is deeply grateful for the support we receive from individual donors like you, as well as corporate sponsors and grant funders. Your commitment enables us to continue offering special access to performances through education programs such as this one. Thank you!
