B & B Winners! by Dell Willis, President 2013-14 oberta and I started stringing lights for Friends of Shore Acres - Holiday Lights in 1998. We have enjoyed the Rfriendships we have made with the great group of volunteers who make such a wonderful community event possible. We had been enjoying the lights for a number of years and then we asked how we could help. We were handed some rolled up balls of lights, a ladder and a long pole. We went to work pu ng lights on the tall bushes and trees. At that me I wore a cowboy hat and became known as “Cowboy.” In a short me we became involved in the behind the scenes ac vi es that start shortly a er the lights are taken down and stored for the next year. Many of the volunteers are busy doing something all summer to make the up coming year an even be er display than the year before. WOW, what a group. Thanks for allowing us the privilege of being a part of such a great organiza on and to have so much fun. I moved back to North Bend in 1991 from Roseburg.
