BIOGRAPHY AIR FORCE COLONEL DAVID E. BACOT Colonel David E. Bacot is the commander of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corp, Detachment 330, at the University of Maryland. He directs and administers an officer training program to provide the with high-quality officers and leaders of character. Col Bacot chairs the Department of Aerospace Studies with a budget of $1.2M. He leads six cadre members instructing a curriculum covering the foundation, doctrine, and history of the Air Force, as well as leadership fundamentals and National Security Affairs.

Colonel Bacot enlisted in the Air Force in 1984 and graduated from the Air Force ROTC program at Texas A&M University in 1990. He is a command meteorologist with diverse assignments supporting defense strategic space policy, fighter and bomber operations, tactical and operational command and control centers, U.S. Army aviation and maneuver, global weather operations and weather systems technology exploitation, and as a EC-135 crew member supporting fighter trans-oceanic deployments. His command assignments include a weather group, and Army-support weather squadron. He has served at various staff positions at the Office of Secretary of Defense and Headquarters United States Air Force. Colonel Bacot deployed to Southwest Asia in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.

Prior to his current assignment, Col Bacot served as the Chief of Weather Operations at Headquarters , Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.
