Ha prestato la propria firma per diversi giornali. A San Pietroburgo è stato nominato direttore della “Casa degli scrittori”. È autore di oltre trenta libri e due sceneggiature per i film “Il mistero della villa Greta” (Mosfilm) e “Il reclutatore”.

Nel 2015 insieme ad un gruppo di appassionati di cinema e ha fondato la Film Grain Foundation. Oggi è un'orgogliosa organizzatrice del Valletta Film Festival.

Dopo il successo dello scorso anno il Sardinia Film Festival riapproda nella magica atmosfera della Riviera del Corallo, dove sole e mare, cultura e storia non bastano a descrivere una delle più belle località dell’isola e dell’intero Mediterraneo. Alghero è la cittadina turistica per eccellenza della west coast della Sardegna, un borgo antico e fascinoso che offre ai visitatori atmosfere indimenticabili e scenari da sogno, tra i quali è emblematico l’incantevole tramonto sull’orizzonte di Capo Caccia. Prima documentarista donna nell’Italia del dopoguerra e voce libera del cinema, Cecilia Mangini è nata nel 1927 a Bari da padre pugliese e madre toscana. A sei anni si trasferisce a Firenze e fin da giovanissima inizia a interessarsi di fotografia e di cinema. L’esordio da critico cinematografico è seguito da un’inten- sa attività con il marito, Lino Del Fra, anche in collaborazione con Pier Paolo Pasolini. Realizza lavori documenta- ristici sulle periferie cittadine e sul controllo sociale delle classi subalterne. Sono sull’obiettivo della sua cinepresa i drammi sociali derivanti dal boom economico, e quindi i temi della sessualità, e la legge sull'aborto. Affronta le tematiche con grande poesia. Nel 2009 il NodoDoc Festival di Trieste rimette in luce la sua figura e la sua opera. Dal 2012 Cecilia fa parte del comitato di consulenza e rappresentanza del periodico Diari di Cineclub. Sempre nel 2012 torna alla regia dopo più di quarant’anni. Si reca a Taranto per raccontare e sostenere le mobilitazioni contro l'inquinamento prodotto dalla locale industria siderurgica, realizzando il documentario In viaggio con Cecilia.

Per il Sardinia Film Festival è importante stare dalla parte dei giovani, siano essi filmaker oppure collaboratori dello staff, offrire un’esperienza formativa utile a confrontarsi con il mondo del lavoro nel settore dell’organizzazione di eventi importanti. Allo scopo il Cineclub di Sassari ha attivato un proget- to di Alternanza scuola-lavoro con l’Istituto Magistrale Margherita di Castelvì diretto da Gianfranco Strinna, per aprire le porte a sette giovani appartenenti al Liceo linguistico. Gli insegnanti che hanno curato il progetto sono Mariella Masoni e Marcello Caputo, mentre Marta Manconi è la docente di comunicazione e event management che li ha seguiti. Il progetto prevede settanta ore di lavoro, suddivise in una prima parte svolta in classe, relativa allo studio dell'evento e alla comunicazione, e una seconda fase pratica da realizzare sul campo durante l' appuntamento sassarese del festival.
