Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Con gress assembled, That, once in two years, a Register, containing correct lists of all the officers and agents, civil, military, and naval, in the service of the United States, made up to the last day of September of each year in which a new Congress is to assemble, be compiled and printed, under the direction of the Secretary for the Department of State. And, to ena ble him to form such Register, he, for his own Department, and the Heads of the other De partments, respectively, shall, in due time, cause such lists as aforesaid, of all officers and agents, in their respective Departments, including clerks, cadets, and midshipmen, to be made and lodged in the office of the Department of State. -

Drawing on literature concerning assistance, the political economy in which it is given, and psychological dimensions of regulation, I investigate the nature and function of objectives stated by aid providers. I argue that whereas discourse is manoeuvred to approve whatever NGOs undertake, the assistance delivered is so far from its objectives as to question what guidance they offer and their strategic merit. Additionally, the NGOs’ approach disregards failure by allowing operational weaknesses to blame or discredit others, rather than being acknowledged to reflect on interventions. -

Odyssey offers an educational program using proven teaching methods, small group instruction, and daily tutoring for individual skill building. Our program is designed to help children reach their full potential by challenging them intellectually while building the self-advocacy skills needed to meet the academic challenges of both high school and post-secondary education. Our Four Pillars of Kindness, Honesty, Respect and Hard Work are the foundation on which The Odyssey School is built. PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT Taken from Homer’s account of Ulysses’ heroic Odyssey understands that a good education journey from the Trojan War, our name represents is forged from a partnership between the parents, the challenging personal journey that each child the school and the child. We believe that within must undertake in his or her individual road to the context of such a partnership each of these success. It represents our conviction that through promising children is able to learn. We provide a encouragement, mentoring, and a healthy sense diverse range of multisensory methods of reading of community, our children can learn, excel, and instruction that are proven by current research to develop the personal character that often blossoms be effective in teaching dyslexic students. -

Housewives are helping with rationing; white-collar men are laboring on the assembly lines of war plants; and high school students are pursuing courses to fit them for their war duties. In every waking moment, the nation is kept aware of the \yar because in this World War II, the war effort and its effects are felt by every living person— the drastic rationing, the unselfish denial of comforts, and the drafting of husbands, sons, and fathers in the services. Since our every thought is of war, it is, therefore, only fitting that the theme of our ’43 yearbook should be a patriotic one. However, the remembrance of these troublous times will not be of as great interest to us in the future as will the pleasant memories of our school days with their exciting foot ball games, their fast moving basketball matches, their lengthy debates, their enervating tests, and their intriguing class dis cussions. Nor shall we forget the school building itself, our friends, and our teachers. Baseball Game Fun!
Baseball Game Fun! Did you know that the game of baseball can be traced back to the American Revolution (1775-1783)? According to History.com, a game that resembled baseball is said to have been developed from two English games, both which involved the use of a bat and a ball: 1. Rounders (a children’s game brought to New England by the colonists); and 2. another popular game—Cricket. During the American Revolution, there were different versions of these games played in schoolyards and college campuses all over the country. In 1845, more than 170 years ago, the New York Knickerbocker Baseball Club was founded. One of its members, Alexander Joy Cartwright, created a set of rules that were the foundation for the baseball played today! He decided upon a diamond-shaped infield, foul lines, and the three-strike rule. In addition, Cartwright got rid of the dangerous practice of tagging runners by throwing baseballs at them (Ouch!). By 1846, the Knickerbockers played their first official game, and baseball became an official sport, unique to America. And then, in 1943, the All-American Girls Baseball League (AAGBL) was created, and in nine years, more than 600 women played in the league. Within the first five years, the number of spectators in attendance at games was over 900,000! One of the most noteworthy teams in the AAGBL was the Rockford Peaches of Illinois. They were one of two teams to play in every AAGBL season, and they won the league championship in 1945, 1948, 1949 and 1950. Throughout this time, Dorothy Kamenshek, Lois Florreich, Dorothy Harrell, Carolyn Morris, Alice Pollitt, Ruth Richard, Rose Gacioch, Eleanor Callow, and Joan Berger were all named to All-Star teams. -
