RESEARCH SUPPORT

NIMH R15 MH113108-01 Goldman-Mellor (PI) 4/01/2017-3/31/2020 “Long-term health of adolescent suicide attempters: Healthcare utilization, morbidity, and costs” This study will use statewide hospital data from California to provide clinically relevant information about long-term patterns of healthcare utilization, morbidity, and healthcare costs among adolescent suicide attempters. The project will also enhance research capacity at U.C. Merced by fostering a new pipeline of student health researchers from underrepresented groups and by creating a significant new data resource for the field of adolescent health.

NIMH R15 3R15MH113108-01S1 Goldman-Mellor (PI) 4/01/2017-3/31/2020 “Administrative Supplement: Long-term health of adolescent suicide attempters” This supplement to R15 MH113108-01 provides additional funding to expand the R15’s study population and link death records to the study dataset.

Goldman-Mellor 4

This pilot grant will examine the association between a range of community-level adversities and self-reported suicidal behavior among adults in California, using population-based survey data from 2015/2016.

Hellman Faculty Fellows Fund Award Goldman-Mellor (PI) 7/1/2016-9/30/2017 University of California, Merced internal grant “Long-term health of adolescent suicide attempters” Project used California emergency department and hospitalization data to investigate long-term healthcare utilization and morbidity among adolescents who sought ED care for suicide attempt in California.

Senate Faculty Research Award Goldman-Mellor (PI) 5/6/2016-6/1/2017 University of California, Merced internal grant “Syndromic surveillance of violence-related injury in Fresno, CA” Project investigated whether county-level Public Health Department syndromic surveillance system data can be used to validly identify emergency department visits for suicide- and assault- related injury in Fresno County, CA.

Small Grant Goldman-Mellor (PI) 4/1/2016-3/31/2017 U.C MEXUS “Planning a new collaboration: Psychiatric epidemiology in Mexican-Americans” This grant provided travel and logistical support for a new collaboration with a senior Mexico- based psychiatric epidemiology researcher.
