The proposed consolidation would result in the 7 relocation of approximately 3,200 USCIS employees to a single 575,000 rentable square-foot (RSF) office site, 8 from six other offices: 20 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, 111 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, 131 M Street, NE, 9 1200 First Street, NE, and 633 Third Street, NW in Washington, DC and 2121 Crystal Drive, Arlington, VA. 10 The One Town Center site is located within the Town Center at Camp Springs, a 227.4 acre subdivision 11 originally known as Capital Gateway. This subdivision is located on the northeast side of the Branch Avenue 12 Metro Station in the Morningside area of Prince George’s County, Maryland. There have been several 13 Detailed Site Plan approvals covering different parts of the Capital Gateway subdivision, zoned as M-X-T, that 14 include plans for residential, retail, and office uses. The latest and final approved plan includes the proposed 15 10.96 acre USCIS headquarters. -

Report by Finance, Administration & Oversight Committee (A) 05-22-08 Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority Board Action/Information Summary Action MEAD Number: Resolution: Information 99997 Yes No PURPOSE To request Board approval of the staff report and recommendations on the proposed restructuring of regional Metrobus Routes 30, 32, 34, 35, 36, which comprise the Pennsylvania Avenue Line. DESCRIPTION The proposed changes to routes and service in Docket No. B08-1 are described below: • Maintain local Routes 32 and 36 between Friendship Heights and Southern Avenue stations (Route 32) and Naylor Road Station (Route 36) serving all stops and operating seven days a week. • Implement new peak period limited-stop services on Route 37 between Friendship Heights and Archives stations via Massachusetts Avenue and 22nd/23rd Streets, and on Route 39 between Naylor Road and Foggy Bottom- GWU Stations via Southern and Pennsylvania Avenues. • Implement new seven-day-a-week neighborhood connectors on Route 31 between Friendship Heights and Foggy Bottom stations and on Route M5 between Naylor Road and Eastern Market stations. • Eliminate Routes 30, 34 and 35. Two public hearings were conducted in the District of Columbia on March 17 and 19, 2008, concerning the proposed route restructuring. Twenty-one persons attended each of the public hearings and a total of 23 witnesses testified for the record. In addition, 12 persons submitted written testimony for the record. The most often mentioned comments from witnesses were general support for the proposals, especially Routes 31 and 37; concerns about the effectiveness of the supervision and monitoring plan to reduce bus bunching and delays; concerns about maintaining adequate frequency of service and capacity in critical areas; and suggestions to speed the boarding process on limited-stop routes by restricting use of cash. -

I support the proposed changes because they will improve 1 A Kaufman travel to and around Ward 8 while helping community members access vital services and increase the connectivity between Wards 6 & 8. I am a Ward 7 resident who will be working in Ward 8 beginning this summer. I support the proposed changes because they will improve travel to and around 2 AD Saunders Ward 8 while helping community members access vital services and community supports. This route directly affects me and my commute on a daily basis. 3 A Donovan This route would be a great addition, and a stop at the new Wharf development would be really helpful. The Union Station‐ Navy Yard route has low ridership, especially during the mid‐day and on weekends (17 passengers boarding per hour, tied for 4th in the system). It also currently serves areas that do not demand high‐ Dear DDOT, We live in NE on Capitol Hill and frequently use the Union Station‐Navy Yard Metro route to take our daughter to school. In the summer we use the frequency, all‐day service. From end to end, the trip on the route often to go to Nationals games and to go to Yards Park. The proposed changes would severely impact my family's ability to get our daughter to school and DC Circulator is 28 minutes. -
