In addition, we are upgrading other domestic airports for bigger capacity and ‘ better services ’ By Usha Wagle Gautam ogesh Bhattarai is a prominent politician of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), and sitting Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Bhattarai replaced Rabindra Adhikari, who died, along with six other people, in a helicopter crash in YMarch. Community caught up with Bhattarai to talk about the ambitious ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ initiative that aims to bring in two million tourists next year among other tourism related issues. Excerpts: What are the immediate plans that the Nepali government is undertaking to lure tourists for the ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ initiative? We have taken two things simultaneously: one, developing and upgrading infrastructures and another, mobilising stakeholders and marketing the ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ campaign. Wednesday, September 18, 2019 GULF TIMES 5 COVER STORY COMMUNITY The immediate plans include completing and operating the Gautam Buddha International Airport; upgrading Tribhuvan International Airport into boutique airport with enhanced facilities, operating the national fl ag carrier, Nepal Airlines, to various international destinations; completing the reconstruction of remaining monuments destroyed by 2015 earthquake; enhancing and packaging tourism products and activities across the nation; and marketing and promotion of ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ campaign internationally. It has been reported in the media that Nepal is constructing international airports in diff erent regions of the country. What are those big infrastructures? Yes. One of the biggest shortcomings in Nepal in terms of tourism potential is the lack of the state-of-the-art and big international airports. Constructing them has been our priority for quite some time. The existing Tribhuvan International Airport is not suffi cient to cater to the growing international air traffi c into Nepal and it is also hard-pressed to absorb the pressure of a growing number of tourists. EVEREST BASE CAMP: Deflecting criticism of a “traff ic jam” at the Everest, the minister explained: “When the climbers at the highest camp are waiting and We are, therefore, constructing weather clears up, all of them have to move upward making the trail look like a train of people locked up in a jam.

  • MCD502 Ethical Concerns Regarding Pakistani Dramas Wait A
“Script Writing” MCD502 Ethical concerns regarding Pakistani dramas Wait a minute and think! Is there anything that has made Pakistan famous all over the globe in the world of entertainment and that is so inspirational? That is undoubtedly our Pakistani drama industry. Our drama industry has been appreciated by not only in Pakistan but across the border beyond the boundaries. But there are some issues it is facing and these issues can undermine years of hard work in this field. Pakistani dramas have always been very popular and appreciated by people all over the globe and the reasons behind their huge fan following and liking are fantastic story plot, catchy dialogues and last but not the least the mind blowing acting by our actors. But if we’ll look back, revisit and have a glance of golden period and classic dramas then we’ll realize that what element is found to be missing these days. We are no more able to compare the past and present dramas. There is huge difference in terms of dialogue delivery, feelings, emotions, style, values, acting, story plot etc. Now many questions arise in our minds that how this transformation happened? Do the Pakistani dramas have really lost the soul and originality? To answer these questions is not that easy. We need to have a hurried look of different dramas and analyze them deeply to answer. There are so many ethical and moral issues Pakistani drama industry is going through, because the industry has to suffer a lot because of the shift that happened in the last decade.

Although Humsafar is set within contemporary Pakistan, Dastaan is a period piece about the 1947 Partition. Audiences have drawn comparisons between both serials due to the actor Fawad Khan's involvement. However, my site of analysis will be the main female characters within these serials. As women primarily make up the audiences for serials, drama serials tend to be about their everyday lives in domestic spaces.

In Pakistan, however, the viewership data is managed, still the system is not properly managed and has many loopholes. This can be imagined through the information that one of the most populated area of Karachi, Gulshan Iqbal, TV viewing patterns are evaluated through less than ten people meters. Express news therefore decided to conduct a full survey that included the view- ership patterns, the most preferred TV shows, and hosts, morning shows, and anchors. The study revealed interesting facts about the standing of Express News programs and TV viewers’ preferences of the same. Keywords: Consumer Preferences, Express TV, Media, Viewership Patterns INTRODUCTION Express TV is one of the old and among most famous TV channels of Pakistan. It is present in different forms including electronic, print, online and web TV. A shift from print to electronic media resulted in the number of TV channels. All the newspaper once prominent in their circulation channelized their budget on establishing TV channels. Geo TV by Jang group, Aaj TV by Business recorder, and Waqt by Naw-e-Waqt are few examples. The outcome is severe competition between the media fighting for viewership and securing big names for programs by their names. The source of revenue for all the channels is advertising.

Multidisciplinary Scientific Reviewer │Monthly │ Volume-01 │ Issue-03 │Oct 2014 . Partition –The Pain and the Pathos Anupama.D.Deshraj , Associate Professor & Head Department English in GVISH, Amravati, Maharashtra, India Partition – The word itself evokes a sense of fear and alienation. An entire generation of people lived through this dreaded crisis. The political ramification of Partition left India divided but it has left the psyche of millions of affected by it. Several decades later, this horrific historical event still has the power to rouse strong feelings of alienation, creates the ‘other’ among neighbours and drive the communities apart. I have grown up listening to ‘real stories’ from my mother about her experience of the aftermath of the partition. She was born in a land lord’s family in Meerut and led a very comfortable life. The family wealth and the large size of it was often the talk of town. This joint family had often given shelter to youngsters shifting from rural areas to study in the city. It was then that country was divided and the ‘refugees ’poured into the city by the thousands. Their large house sprawling over an area of seven acres in the Cantt was turned into a shelter for the refugees. My mother recalls that each family residing in their compound in tents had older people staying at home, looking after the little ones while the young and abled- bodied spread all over the city in search of any work they could get their hands on. Right from hawking their wares to stitching and sewing clothes –no work was below their dignity.
