In the following 23 years since our commencement of manufacturing operations, we have today in 2014 become one of the largest aftermarket suppliers to world markets in this product sector (M/Cycle disc brake pads). During this period of evolution and growth in our commercial operations; as a result of continuous heavy investment in R & D, we have successfully expanded our product range of sintered brake pads to incorporate aftermarket product to service the Aeronautical, Heavy-Duty Industrial Logistics Equipment (Lifting Cranes), Automotive Motorsport, Mountain Bike, and M/Cycle Motorsport Sidecar, commercial sales sectors. To continue to endevour to meet our customers evolving demands in the intensely competitive and critical commercial world we all operate in, Spacek Product continues to invest heavily in product R & D to maintain development of „new generation“ products, and to maintain our position at the technological forefront of the Sintered Friction Braking Industry. By basing our manufacturing facility in the Czech Republic which is world renowned for its engineering excellence since some 100 years past, we are able to offer our customers the perfect combination of world leading technology combined with a very competitive production cost base so that the customer and the consumer can purchase the best quality product at the most competitive price – with complete confidence in the performance, durability, and reliability of the product. We commenced production in 2000 of a complete range of aftermarket Street and Motocross Disc Brake Rotors, applicable to most Japanese and European Sport and Touring M/Cycles, Scooters, ATV M/Cycles, and Motocross models. These Rotors are available in OEM round configuration, and in several other specialised aesthetic style configurations. One of our current priorities in our manufacturing program is to introduce graphic design elements to differentiate and protect our Goldfren branded product range from plagiarism from inferior product brands attempting to (without our authority) capitalise on our heavy investment in R & D and product promotion. It is our absolute priority to protect and to add value to our Goldfren product reputation, to support and promote our customers marketing programs in their home markets throughout the world. Dear friends, Dear commercial partners; we thank you for your current and past support , and we are sure that you continue to value our efforts to offer you the best possible product technology and pricing that your market demands, and we are confident that you will value our Goldfren product range as a „priority and preferred” product group in your inventory and marketing strategies. • Motorcycle Crash Causation Study: Volume 2—Coding Manual
Motorcycle Crash Causation Study: Volume 2—Coding Manual PUBLICATION NO. FHWA-HRT-18-039 FEBRUARY 2019 Research, Development, and Technology Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center 6300 Georgetown Pike McLean, VA 22101-2296 FOREWORD The Motorcycle Crash Causation Study, conducted through the Federal Highway Administration Office of Safety Research and Development, produced a wealth of information on the causal factors for motorcycle crashes, and its corresponding Volumes provide perspectives on what crash-countermeasure opportunities can be developed. This study used a crash- and control-case approach developed from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development protocols, which as discussed in this report, has provided insights into more than 1,900 data elements that may be associated with motorcycle-crash causation. The research team produced a final report along with a 14-volume series of supplemental reports that provide an overview of the study and a summary of its observations, the data-collection forms and coding definitions, a tabulation of each data element collected from each form, and selected comparisons with previous studies. It is anticipated that readers will select those Volumes and data elements that provide information of specific interest. This document, Volume 2—Coding Manual, provides the coding conventions used in this study. It provides data that enable the proper interpretation and understanding of the codes assigned to variables of interest during the study. This report will be of interest to individuals involved in traffic safety, safety training, crash and injury reduction, and roadway design and policy making, as well as to motorcycle- and safety-equipment designers, crash investigators and researchers, motorcycle and automotive manufacturers and consumers, roadway users, and human-factors specialists.

  • Picking on Poor People: Outlawing Minibikes and Atvs
Picking on Poor People: Outlawing minibikes and ATVs Providence and Cranston seem to regard themselves as cities under siege from two-wheeled minibikes and four-wheeled all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) on their streets. “The use of dirt bikes and ATVs on our streets is illegal and is a serious danger,” said Providence Mayor Jorge O. Elorza in a statement on the city’s official website. But why are they illegal? And are they really dangerous? In terms of safety, minibikes are not inherently more dangerous than motorcycles if operated with proper equipment, particularly a helmet. If anything, their smaller engine sizes likely make them safer, all other factors being equal. My inference is that they are illegal only because they are illegal: RI General Laws §31-3.2-1(8) defines the prohibited class “’Recreational vehicle’ means a motor vehicle including minibikes designed to travel over unimproved terrain and which has been determined by the division of motor vehicles as unsuitable for operation on the public way and not eligible for registration for such use.” But that clause goes on to allow “golf mobiles or golf carts, riding lawn mowers, or garden tractors, which are not registered as farm vehicles,” before again explicitly prohibiting “any three (3) wheel driven vehicle and any other four (4) wheel driven vehicle, regardless of type or design, including all classes of all-terrain vehicles.” Aside from the horrifically bad drafting – you can’t do this, except you can do this, but you can’t do that – the distinguishing criterion seems to be the demographics of the users.

The price range for these vehicles is almost as extreme as the vehicles themselves. A few hundred dollars will buy SEGWAY X2 you an around-town scooter. A whole lot more will get you a custom-built, full-on race motorcycle. Even a year ago, many of these products were pipe dreams—pretty online prototypes, but not in actual production.
