The United States hosted the Championships for the third time, previously in 2000 in Minneapolis and 2010 in Colorado Springs. In fourth place, after the short program, Team Unique (Finland 1) soared up the standings with a flawless free skate to earn the world title, edging NEXXICE (Canada 1) by less than one point. In third place for the fourth straight year were the Haydenettes (USA 1). Skating to music from The Help, Team Unique was the final team to skate in the free skate. They earned 139.49 points for their performance, more than four points better than the second place team. Despite finishing with the second-best score for their components, Team Unique totaled 65.74 points for their elements which included 8.50 points for their moves in the field elements helping them to 208.77 points overall. Leading after the short program, last year’s silver medalists, NEXXICE again took home the silver medal as they finished with 208.25 points overall. Skating to the classic music of “Die Fledermaus,” NEXXICE, dressed in gold and black, finished with the top score for their components in this segment of the competition.

    Muodostelmaluistelu 1 Muodostelmaluistelu pähkinänkuoressa Muodostelmaluistelu on taitoluistelun näyttävä joukkuemuoto, jossa tärkeitä elementtejä ovat vauhti, yllättävät kuviot, huimat pari- ja ryhmänostot sekä yhtäaikaisuus. Seniori- ja juniorijoukkueissa on 16 luistelijaa. Muodostelmaluisteluohjelmat ovat vahvasti teemallisia ja ne kertovat aina tarinan, jota korostetaan puvuilla ja koreografialla joilla on kokonaisuutta ajatellen suuri merkitys. Tasapainoinen ohjelma koostuu taitoluistelun peruselementeistä ja muodostelmakuvioista, jotka liitetään toisiinsa taitavilla koreografisilla siirtymillä. Ohjelmaa vaikeuttavat erilaisten vapaaluisteluelementtien lisäksi käsiotteiden, luistelusuuntien ja vauhdin vaihdokset. Ohjelmissa voidaan nähdä myös yksinluistelusta tuttuja liikkeitä kuten piruetteja ja liukuja. Joukkueen suoritusta arvioidaan mm. ohjelman sisältämien elementtien vaativuustason, suorituspuhtauden ja laadun perusteella sekä ohjelman osa-alueiden kuten perusluistelutaidon, esityksen, sommittelun, koreografian sekä tulkinnan perusteella. Muodostelmaluistelu on Suomessa suosittu laji, sillä maassamme on 153 joukkuetta (kevät 2013), joissa on lähes 2800 luistelijaa. Laji on hyvin suosittu myös aikuisten keskuudessa. Muodostelmaluistelun historiaa Muodostelmaluistelu sai alkunsa Yhdysvalloista 1970-luvulla. Suomalaisen taitoluistelun uranuurtaja Jane Erkko näki lajissa potentiaalia ja toi muodostelmaluistelun Suomeen 1980-luvun alussa.     TOIMINTA- JA TALOUSKERTOMUS 2015 Toimintakertomus 2015 VUOSIKATSAUS Suomen Taitoluisteluliitto järjestää vuoden 2017 taitoluistelun MM-kilpailut Helsingissä. Tapahtuma on erittäin merkittävä urheilutapahtuma itsenäisyyden juhlavuoden aikana ja on osa erilaisten tapahtumien jatkumoa, jossa juhlistetaan 100-vuotiasta itsenäistä Suomea. Kisajärjestelyt aloitettiin toden teolla vuoden 2015 alussa, jolloin sekä järjestelytoimikunta ja kisojen operatiivinen tiimi aloittivat työnsä. Järjestelytoimikuntaa johtaa ministeri Anne Berner. Kisojen pääsihteeriksi valittiin Henri Nordenswan, jolla on kokemus niin vuoden 2009 taito- luistelun EM-kisojen kuin myös vuoden 2011 muodostelmaluistelun MM-kisojen järjestelyistä. Osana MM-kilpailuihin valmistautumista aloitettiin myös järjestelyt hankkeessa nimeltä ’Koko Suomi Luistelee’. Uudistettu rusettiluistelu -konsepti kymmenillä paikkakunnilla ennen MM- kisoja on osa Suomen juhlaa, mutta myös siivittää meitä kohti MM-kilpailuja. Vuoden 2015 Finlandia Trophy -kilpailussa Espoossa jätimme haikeat jäähyväiset Kiira Korven arvokisauralle Kiiran siirtyessä uusiin haasteisiin. Avajaisesitys, jossa Kiira luisteli mukana, antoi 20 vuotta täyttäneelle kilpailulle hyvän startin. Suomen Taitoluisteluliitto sai taas isännöidä kilpailua, jossa sekä omat urheilijamme että maailmalta saapuneet taitoluistelijat saivat näyttää taitojaan aivan kilpailukauden aluksi.     HELSINGIN LUISTELIJAT TOIMINTAKERTOMUS 1.7.2018 - 30.4.2019 TOIMINTAKERTOMUS 2017-2018 Helsingin Luistelijat ry. YLEISTÄ Seuran 111. toimintakausi 1.7.2018 – 30.4.2019 oli onnistunut, menestyksekäs ja tapahtumarikas. Marigold IceUnity päätti kautensa upeasti MM-hopeaan kotihallissaan Helsingissä. MM-hopea vahvisti Marigoldin ylivoimaista asemaa Suomen ja maailman menestyneimpänä joukkueena viidellä MM-kullalla, kuudella MM-hopealla ja kahdella MM-pronssilla. Tällä hetkellä joukkue on maailman kaikkien aikojen menestynein muodostelmaluistelujoukkue 13:lla MM-mitalilla. Myös jäätanssissa hätyyteltiin maailman huippuja. Juulia Turkkila ja Matthias Versluis jatkoivat seuran arvokisahistorian kirjoittamista sekä EM- että MM-areenoilla sijoittumalla molemmissa kilpailuissa 20 parhaan parin joukkoon vasta kolmantena kautenaan. Ennen jäätanssiuraansa Juulia ehti edustaa seuraamme yksinluistelussa kymmenkunta vuotta niin kotimaassa kuin EM- ja MM- kilpailuissakin. Huippuluistelun lisäksi jäätanssiin panostettiin mahdollistamalla lajin pariin siirtyminen jo suoraan luistelukoulusta. Yksinluistelussakin nähtiin vauhdikas kausi; seuramme luistelijat osallistuivat menestyksekkäästi lähes neljäänkymmeneen kilpailutapahtumaan ulkomaita myöten. Kauden päätteeksi moni pitkäaikainen ansioitunut luistelijamme hyvästeli kilpajäät, joten tulevaan kauteen lähdetään uudesta tilanteesta.     TOIMINTA- JA TALOUSKERTOMUS 2012 Vuosikatsaus Vuosi alkoi hienosti Kiira Korven EM-hopealla ja päättyi hänen neljänteen sijaan Grand Prix -finaalissa. Vuoden sisään mahtui paljon erilaista toimintaa ja tapahtumia, onnen ja myös turhautumisen hetkiä. Taitoluistelu elää vahvassa nosteessa, mutta tummiakin pilviä on näkyvissä. Laji on jo pitkään kuulunut yhdeksi seuratuimmista lajeista Suomessa. Lajin ammattimainen harjoituskulttuuri ja valmennus ovat saaneet muut lajit kiinnostumaan ja ottamaan mallia tavastamme toimia. Suuri kiitos lajimme nosteesta kuuluu menestyville urheilijoille, valmentajille ja seuroille, jotka kaikki tekevät laadukasta työtä päivittäin jäähalleissa eri puolilla maata. Vaikka menestys tuntuu hyvältä, ei hyvän olon tunteeseen voi tuudittautua. Monet mitalisteistamme ovat lopettaneet ja uudet urheilijat on autettava nousuun. Pysyäksemme kansainvälisen kärjen kehityksessä meidän on jatkuvasti uudistuttava. Tätä varten Suomi on isännöinyt kansainvälisen liiton tukemaa Nordic Development –seminaaria, joka jatkui kesän kynnyksellä, ja vielä toisen kerran syksyllä, tuoden huippukouluttajia suomalaisvalmentajien ja nuorten luistelijoiden sparraajiksi Vierumäelle. Nelivuotinen seminaarikokonaisuus on toisinto 2000-luvun alun vastaavasta. Silloinen koulutuskokonaisuus oli yksi merkittävä tekijä Suomen nostamisessa kansainväliseen kärkeen naisten taitoluistelussa. Muodostelmaluistelussa panostimme vahvasti kansainvälisen liiton arviointijärjestelmän parantamiseen. Kansainvälinen liitto otti yhteistyössä Ruotsin kanssa tekemämme
