Mr. D. Shankarappa is a development worker with a specialization of working for Rural Development, Women and Child Rights related issues from more than two and half decades.

QUALIFICATION:

 He has completed his post-graduation in Master of Arts - Social Work discipline. Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Mysore University.  Later he pursued apprenticeship in Journalism from Department of Information & Publicity Government of Karnataka.  Apart from these he had done many Specializations, Professional Development Courses and Research Studies on Social and Economic Development in Foreign Universities, such as The Netherlands Knowledge Orange Programme Nuffic Fellowship Course Facing Rural Innovation Challenges and Food Security ICRA–Wageningen Govt of The Netherlands. MASHAV Fellowship Course “Innovative Entrepreneurship” MCTC-Haifa, Govt of Israel.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

 Mr. D. Shankarappa has handled many Official Positions in various government and Non-Government organizations working for various social causes. He was nominated as a Member of Child Welfare Committee Shivamogga. He was one of the Members in Legal Service Committee at Shikaripura Court, Member in Women and Child Trafficking Committee at Shivmogga. Member National Service Volunteer Selection Committee in Neharu Yuva Sangahatan MYAS-GOI, Member State Level Land Reforms Committee-GOK Bangalore, Member Sub Divisional Bonded Labour Eradicated Committee Sagara many more.

 Founder & CEO of PARIVARTHANA Rural Development Society a Non- Governmental Organization in Shiralakoppa of Karnataka. One-year experience in Fellowship for Rural Development- OXFAM (I) Trust – UK. One- year experience as Karnataka Youth Service Corps from Dept of Youth Affairs and Sports GOK, One year experience as a National Service Volunteer in Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan MHRD -GOI.

 Mr. D. Shankarappa is currently working as Member of the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) Bangalore,Department of Women and Child Development GOK and he has been entrusted the responsibilities of Shivamogga, Davangere, Chikkamangalore, Udupi and Dakshin districts.
