  • 22. MEL PATRICK the Author of This Site and the Book "Egocentricity and Spirituality"
    22. MEL PATRICK The author of this site and the book "Egocentricity and spirituality" is not a guru, an enlightened being, a Jivanmukti or a Jnani (a realized person who holds sacred knowledge). He teaches nothing nor organizes sessions of meditation and Satsang (talks about spirituality and non-duality). He isn’t more or less "awakened" than anybody else when he doesn’t sleep in the arms of Morpheus. He doesn’t claim to be free from anything and doesn’t think to have realized the Self. He doesn’t live in Nirvana or in a world of non-duality, and even less in a fourth dimension of pure consciousness or in heaven, but on earth as all other human beings. He’s actually a very normal and ordinary human being and not God, the Self, the universal consciousness, stillness or an ocean of bliss. He writes to share his experience with other seekers of truth and what is according to him good for humanity. As a matter of fact, he is a seeker of truth and that’s why he doesn’t hesitate to denounce the delirious abuses of spirituality (especially in the non-duality circles) that we can witness today in the West. His initiation with Swami Girdanandaji from Uttarkashi and study of Advaita Vedanta with Mr. Brahma Chaitanya from Gangotri enable him to have a relatively clear idea of what is meant by the term "non-duality". And it’s precisely this subject that he wishes to introduce to the reader, subject based on an experience he has lived and very clearly described in the section "Experience" dated the 4/2/2012.

  • From Thomas Paine to the "Dilbert Boycott"
EMPLOYEE INVENTORS, THE DUAL LADDER, AND THE USEFUL ARTS: FROM THOMAS PAINE TO THE "DILBERT BOYCOTT" RONALD E. ANDERMANN Abstract To address limitations on the promotion of the progress of the useful arts, the Framers provided a Constitutional grant in the Patent Clause. They did so despite Thomas Jefferson's concerns. However, limitations on the promotion of the useful arts continue today, often in very subtle ways. The evolution of dual-ladder corporate organizations as described in Martens has given rise to one such limitation-the phenomenon identified as the "Dilbert boycott." Also, financially lucrative markets can give rise to abusive limitations on the promotion of the useful arts as in Synthroid. Combining these limitations with Thomas Jefferson's fears of even limited monopolies points to the need for vigilance in insuring that the rights and policies behind the Constitutional grant are not eroded. Starting with the ideas of Thomas Paine, an inventor and contemporary of the Framers, this Comment identifies five key principles underlying the Constitutional grant in the Patent Clause. To apply these principles, there must be a high degree of definiteness where ideas are exchanged for rights in intellectual property, particularly in the context of technical employment agreements. • The Journey Beyond Enlightenment the Next Step in Your Personal Transformation by Stuart Wilde
The Journey Beyond Enlightenment The Next Step in Your Personal Transformation By Stuart Wilde ©2005 Stuart Wilde The Journey Beyond Enlightenment 2 The New Sophistication of Spirituality I have enclosed a few diagrams and photographs with this audio series to give you a deeper under- standing of the mystical concepts discussed. Spirituality and perception are very closely linked. Developing a heightened perception allows you to develop even more as a spiritual being because you become more aware, especially of subtle feelings and fleeting impressions. Over the last few decades, extrasensory perception has become common and people like you are now more sophisti- cated in their spirituality. It is likely that you have grown spiritually much more than you realize. Phenomena like the Morph that I speak of in this audio series and the dematerialization of objects and even the dematerialization of the human body used to be “beyond belief”, in the realm of imag- ination and fairy tales, but now they’re common and normal, and part of how spiritual people per- ceive their reality. It is not just shamans in the Amazon and Hindu holy men who experience these metaphysical things; I’ve seen ordinary people go through partial dematerializations. Here are two photographs of the phenomena for you to consider. The photo at left was taken in my house in Australia. An Australian mystic called J. Barrymore (in white) is performing a ceremony, a type of spiritual cleansing on another man. You can see that the upper part of Barrymore’s body has clearly entered an unseen world, creating a partial dematerialization in this 3-D reality.

  • At the Mercy of Sadistic Cats and Megalomaniacal Dogs: Dilbert As a Reflection of and Vehicle for Organizational Cynicism
DOCUMENT RESUME ED 465 972 CS 511 157 AUTHOR Davis, Julie TITLE At the Mercy of Sadistic. Cats and Megalomaniacal Dogs: Dilbert as a Reflection of and Vehicle for Organizational Cynicism. PUB DATE 2002-04-00 NOTE 19p. PUB TYPE Opinion Papers (120) EDRS PRICE MF01/PC01 Plus Postage. DESCRIPTORS *Comics (Publications); *Employee Attitudes; Higher Education; Integrity; Job Performance; *Organizational Communication; *Organizational Effectiveness; *Work Ethic IDENTIFIERS *Cynicism; *Dilbert (Comic Strip) ABSTRACT Organizational cynicism, a recent entry into the study of organizational communication, explains the causes and consequences of employees' lack of trust in their organizations. Organizational cynicism exists on three levels: the cognitive belief in the organization's lack of integrity, the feeling of negative emotions toward that organization, and the behavioral expression of that belief and emotion. Recent research has shown correlations between organizational cynicism and measures of organizational effectiveness. In addition, cynical employees are less likely to perform organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs). Scott Adams' comic strip "Dilbert" exhibits both the characteristics of organizational cynics and their effects on the workplace. For example, in "Dilbert" one of the most easily recognized elements of integrity and honesty is exposed as one that leads to failure. In addition, like the majority of American workers Dilbert feels pressured to engage in unethical behaviors. This pressure only increases his levels of cynicism. Finally, in "Dilbert," employees consistently and consciously bypass opportunities to help the organization by engaging in OCBs. (Contains 39 references.)
