To identify key trends in international sales of feature films generally and Canadian independent feature films specifically; 2. To provide intelligence on challenges and opportunities to increase foreign sales; 3. To identify policies, programs and initiatives to support foreign sales in other jurisdic- tions and make recommendations to ensure that Canadian initiatives are competitive. For the purpose of this study, Canadian film exports were defined as sales of rights. These included pre-sales, sold in advance of the completion of films and often used to finance pro- duction, and sales of rights to completed feature films. In other jurisdictions foreign sales are being measured in a number of ways, including the number of box office admissions, box of- fice revenues, and sales of rights. -

Non si ruba a casa dei ladri - Il Film Domenico Palattella (122) “Non si ruba a casa dei ladri”: Salemme e la differenza tra una “grassa” risata e una di “classe” Quante volte si sente dire in giro, sia presso gli esperti del settore, che tra gli appassionati, “ah ma il cinema del passato era tutta un’altra cosa”. Più classe, più stile, più talento cinematografico, quello che per inteso, issò il cinema italiano, come il più importante del mondo. Soprattutto nella commedia questa differenza di stile è più evidente che mai. Forse perché non si fa più la gavetta, forse perché mancano Maestri di tale genere. Eppure nella moderna commedia all’italiana non mancano gli specialisti del genere, alcuni di essi di altissimo valore. Non è un caso che uno dei migliori attori della moderna commedia all’italiana sia ritenuto un po’ da tutti, l’attore napoletano Vincenzo Salemme. Salemme, classe 1957, è l’ultimo grande esponente dell’arte della commedia, che vede nella lingua e nell’ambientazione napoletana la maniera migliore per esprimersi. Salemme, comico e attore sensibile e intelligente, viene da una tradizione precisa, quella di Eduardo e sa come si fanno le commedie, sa qual è il valore dei tempi, delle battute, dei passaggi di consegna. Il suo teatro, come il suo cinema, non è “vintage” ma è la ripetizione felice e creativa di un modello di commedia che ha illustri precedenti. A differenza di altri comici prestati al cinema, Salemme non si esaurisce perché la sua formula, pur sempre fondata su identici dispositivi, in qualche modo si rinnova. -
