Getting to Middlegarth From Penrith take the B5228 for about seven miles, passing through Greystoke until you reach Motherby. Drive past the telephone box and letter box on your right hand side and Middlegarth is 400 yards after these on the left. It is a sandstone double fronted cottage linked to a barn.
