Applications may be inspected free of charge at the Office of the Traffic Commissioner in Leeds by any person who carries written authorisation to act in that capacity. Objections against published applications may be made in writing by a Chief Officer of Police, a local authority, a planning authority or a prescribed trade union or association within 21 days of the date on which notice of an application is published in Applications and Decisions. Objections must be made either on the grounds that any of the requirements listed in Section 13 of the Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Act 1995 are not met and/or that a nominated operating centre will be unsuitable for use as such. A copy of the objection must be sent by the objector to the applicant at the same time that it is sent to the Traffic Commissioner. The onus of proof in terms of the grounds on which an objection is lodged lies with the objector. You may fax a copy of your objection to 0113 2488521 but please note that you must send the original signed document through the post. Classification of Operator Licences – There are three classes of licence: • A Restricted (R) licence authorises the use of a goods vehicle on public roads in Great Britain for the carriage of the licence holder’s own goods in the course of his trade or business. The licence holder cannot carry goods for other people for hire or reward; • A Standard National (SN) licence allows the licence holder to carry both his own goods and goods for other people for hire or reward, on public roads in Great Britain. He can also carry his own goods on journeys abroad; • A Standard International (SI) licence allows the licence holder to carry both his own goods and goods for other people for hire or reward. These activities can be undertaken both in Great Britain and on international journeys.     Hull History Centre: Bishop Burton Estates of the Gee and Hall-Watt Families U DDGE Papers of the Bishop Burton Estates 1194 - 1931 of the Gee and Hall-Watt Families Historical Background: Bishop Burton is about 4 kilometres west of Beverley on the main York road at the foot of the East Yorkshire wolds. It is an estate village dating largely from the lordship of the Hall-Watt family from the late eighteenth century. Before the Reformation the manor had been owned by the Archbishop of York. After reversion to the Crown in 1542 it was sold a decade later to John Dudley, Duke of Northunberland who forfeited it a year later on attainder. It then went through leasing and sale before being bought by the Crompton family, who in turn sold it to William Gee (d.1612) in 1603. It subsequently descended in the Gee family until being bought by Richard Watt in 1783 (Allison, History of Yorkshire East Riding, iv, pp.3-4). The Gee family came from Rothley in Leicestershire. Henry Gee of Rothley was the common ancestor of a senior branch of the family who remained in Rothley and the father of William Gee who first moved to Hull as a master mariner. William Gee became a Merchant of the Staple and acquired great wealth through this means and through public office. He was sheriff of Hull in 1560 and mayor in 1562, 1573 and 1582. He was the benefactor of Hull Grammar School, donating £80 and 20,000 bricks in 1583 for its rebuilding, as well as founding a hospital for ten poor women and providing the town with a gold chain to be worn by mayoresses.

    Sandes Ancestry England and Wales National Probate Calendar 1861 – 1941 About England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations) 1861-1941 This collection contains summaries of the vast majority of probate cases in England and Wales between 1861 and 1941. It effectively forms an index to wills and probate records for this period. The records were created by the Probate Registry, which took control of proving wills and administrations in 1858. Before this, four different types of ecclesiastical (church) courts dealt with these cases. A Principal Probate Registry was established in London in January 1858, and several district probate registries were created around the country. From then on, the registries oversaw all grants of probate and letters of administration. This collection is the Calendar of these grants. The Calendar is separated into a different volume for each year. The entries in each volume are then alphabetised by surname.     No Offshore End-Run Around Derivatives Reform To the Commissioners of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission: We, the undersigned, urge you to stand up for rules that apply the transparency and safety requirements of the Dodd-Frank Act to all derivatives transactions relevant to U.S. markets, regardless of whether these transactions are routed through a foreign subsidiary or entity. We need rules that cover all transactions, wherever they occur, which have the potential to jeopardize America’s financial institutions and financial security. That’s how the rules must to be structured in order to work.. And that’s how Dodd-Frank was written. We call on you to uphold that standard. Exempting the transactions of overseas subsidiaries from the full scope of derivatives regulation would be a giant loophole, encouraging banks to move transactions offshore and permitting an indefinite continuation of the kind of reckless activity that helped crash the economy in 2008. Delay, too, can be a strategy for weakening and evading the law. Four years after the financial crisis and two years after the passage of Dodd Frank, it is time to insist on high standards that apply to all the derivatives transactions of U.S. banks and their subsidiaries.
