  • APPENDIX 5 Discounted SLAA Sites List
APPENDIX 5 Discounted SLAA Sites List TECHNICAL NOTE Job Name: Chelmsford SLAA Job No: 35446 Note No: 2 Date: 19 August 2015 Prepared By: Daniel Wheelwright Subject: List of Discounted Sites from the SLAA Assessment The list below sets out those sites which are subject to the ‘absolute constraints’ (as listed in the SLAA Criteria note) in their entirety. Where sites are only partially affected by the absolute constraint(s), the site is still taken forward into the SLAA database on the basis of the resultant unaffected area. It should be noted that for Green Belt and ‘Green Wedge’ sites, two versions of the SLAA assessment were undertaken (see SLAA Database Methodology and Output Note). The first is a ‘policy-on’ approach of treating Green Belt and Green Wedge sites as an absolute constraint to development. The list below reflects this approach. The second ‘policy-off’ approach does not discount Green Belt and Green Wedge sites and includes them within the assessment. It should be noted however that Sites CFS10, CFS32 CFS253 remain ‘absolute constraints’ under both approaches – given they are site specific reasons for their discounting - and therefore do not feature in the SLAA database. The year before I had listened with excitement to the launch of our local commercial station, Liverpool's Radio City, and wanted to find out what other stations I might be able to pick up. In those days the Guide covered TV as well as radio, which could only manage to fill two pages – but then there were only 19 “ILR” stations.

  • Essex Coast Recreational Disturbance Avoidance & Mitigation
Committee: Cabinet Date: Monday, 15 July Title: Essex Coast Recreational Disturbance Avoidance & Mitigation Strategy (RAMS) 2019 Portfolio Cllr Louise Pepper, Portfolio Holder for Holder: Environment and Green Issues; Equalities Report Sarah Nicholas, Senior Planning Officer Key decision: Author: [email protected] No Summary 1. Natural England, the Government’s advisor for the natural environment in England identified the need for a strategic approach or RAMS, to understand the likely increased recreational impacts on coastal Sites of Scientific Interest and to identify effective avoidance and mitigation measures. Consequently the 11 Essex Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) who lie wholly or partly within Impact Risk Zones of coastal Sites of Scientific Interest (SSSI), have worked with Natural England in preparing the Essex RAMS Strategy. During this process it was found that the Zone of Influence (ZoI) for the Blackwater Estuary Special Protection Area (SPA) and Ramsar site includes a small part of Uttlesford District in Felsted parish. Uttlesford has therefore joined the other local authorities as a partner for the delivery phase of the Essex Coast RAMS. 2. The purpose of this report is to approve the RAMS Strategy Document (Technical Report and Mitigation Report) (Enc. 1) and to approve the Essex Coast Recreational Disturbance Avoidance & Mitigation Strategy (Essex RAMS) draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) (Enc.2) for consultation. 3. Essex County Council Place Services were commissioned to prepare the RAMS and SPD on behalf of the partners. RAMS have been successfully implemented throughout other areas of the country for example, in the Solent, Thames Basin Heaths and North Kent. 4. The RAMS aims to avoid and mitigate bird and habitat disturbance from recreational activities through a series of management measures which encourage visitors to enjoy their visits responsibly.
