After questions were raised during Thursday’s hearing about why the government had not published the notice regarding the government’s December 20 decision to dissolve the House, Attorney General Agni Kharel on Friday presented before the court the copy of the gazette with the notice. • Obstacles to Economic Development in Nepal Siddhi B Ranjitkar
Obstacles To Economic Development In Nepal Siddhi B Ranjitkar Introduction The recent expenditure of the State capital budget has been alarmingly low (less than 5 percent of the capital budget in 2015) indicating the State has not been able to use the taxpayers’ money for the economic development. Capital budget has been primarily for the infrastructures such as roads, irrigation systems, hydropower projects and so on. Infrastructure is the spine of the overall economic development. Many human-made and natural obstacles have been in the way to the infrastructure development in the past and currently, too causing constraint on the overall economic development, and delaying the poverty alleviation. The country would not economically develop if the State collects the money from the citizens in the various names of tax but does not use it for the economic development. So, money needs to go around and make everybody work and create assets and develop the country. If money sits in the State treasury it won’t be better than a scrap of paper. The State collects money from the common folks in the form of various taxes. Every citizen pays VAT (Value-added Tax) on every service or item s/he pays for. If you go to a restaurant you get the bill with the VAT on the meals you ate and the drinks you drank. If you are a rich person you pay a very high tax on a car you buy. The tax on a car is more than the price of a car. But you might not feel it because the tax has been already added to the price.

MAY 15, 2021 THE RACE FOR LIKES BOOKS THAT SHINE THE LIGHT ON ANXIETY REDUCE FINE LINES AND WRINKLES WITHOUT BOTOX DRIVEN BY PURPOSE SHRINKHALA KHATIWADA TA PromiseRIV EforN LifeI Time - as we measure it – flows seamlessly, each second, minute, hour merging into an endless cycle of day and night. The skies, the clouds, the sun, the stars, the oceans and rivers, the forests and the animals in an unconcerned rhythmic flow of life make me question why am I calculating time… And every time I measure time in pensive mood, I go back to a quote from the book called ‘The Time Keeper’ which says: “Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week. There is a clock on your wall or the dashboard of your car. You have a schedule, a calendar, a time for dinner or a movie. Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out” …And when I read this, I know without doubt that were I given the choice to live forever, I would not take it. After all it is the limited time that we have that makes life so precious. The pandemic has deeply unveiled to us the fragility of life. Many of us have lost people we loved and had known.

Refugee Review Tribunal AUSTRALIA RRT RESEARCH RESPONSE Research Response Number: NPL31734 Country: Nepal Date: 14 May 2007 Keywords: Nepal – Chitwan – Maoist insurgency – Peace process – Rashtriya Prajatantra Party – Recruitment of children This response was prepared by the Country Research Section of the Refugee Review Tribunal (RRT) after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the RRT within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum. Questions 1. Was Bharatput Chitwan an area affected by the Maoist insurgency, particularly in 2003 and 2004? 2. Has the security situation improved since the peace agreement signed between the government and the Maoists in November 2006 and former Maoist rebels were included in the parliament? 3. Please provide some background information about the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party - its policies, platform, structure, activities, key figures - particularly in the Bharatpur/Chitwan district. 4. Please provide information on the recruitment of children. RESPONSE 1. Was Bharatput Chitwan an area affected by the Maoist insurgency, particularly in 2003 and 2004? The available sources indicate that the municipality of Bharatpur and the surrounding district of Chitwan have been affected by the Maoist insurgency. There have reports of violent incidents in Bharatpur itself, which is the main centre of Chitwan district, but it has reportedly not been as affected as some of the outlying villages of Chitwan. A map of Nepal is attached for the Member’s information which has Bharatpur marked (‘Bharatpur, Nepal’ 1999, Microsoft Encarta – Attachment 1). A 2005 Research Response examined the presence of Maoist insurgents in Chitwan, but does not mention Maoists in Bharatpur.
