19 Jan 2017 Zeng Jian Won Her Fourth U21 Singles ITTF World 19 January 2017 MEDIA RELEASE Zeng Jian won her fourth U21 singles ITTF World Tour Title at the Seamaster 2017 ITTF World Tour Hungarian Open, 17 Jan 2017 - 22 Jan 2017 In an all Singapore final, Zeng Jian beat her teammate Lin ye in three straight games to reach the top step of the podium (11-8, 11-7, 11-7). This is the seventh time that Zeng Jian and Lin Ye had reached an ITTF World Tour Under 21 Women’s Singles final but it is the first time playing against each other in the finals. “I played really well and my game improved throughout day; it got better and better. My backhand was really strong in the end and that gave me the edge in the finals. I played really well in the final; for the future, I will try hard to improve more”, said Zeng Jian. Last year, Zeng Jian won the U21 singles event in the China, Japan and Qatar ITTF World Tours and was the runner up in the ITTF Poland World Tour. In 2015, Zeng Jian was also the silver medallist in ITTF World Tours in Kuwait and Japan. Clarence Chew, Gao Ning, Ethan Poh, Edric Lim, Maxxe Tay, Lin Ye and Zhou Yihan also represented Singapore in the ITTF World Tour Hungarian Open.
