Professional Field Experiences Sport Administration PROFESSIONAL FIELD EXPERIENCES SPORT ADMINISTRATION Students who choose the Sport Administration major are required to complete a 12-credit field experienceSPRT450: Professional Field Experience in Sport Administration. These field experiences involve 480 hours of hands-on learning for public and private agencies in settings where the student is likely to find further employment. Every effort is made to assist the student in finding a valuable practical field experience that will facilitate the accomplishment of the student’s career goals. Wenner Bread was selected for the Industrial Deal of the Year award for its move from Long Island to New Brunswick, and Sandoz won Office or Mixed Use Deal of the Year for its new world headquarters in Plainsboro. Both companies were approved for tax credits under the Grow New Jersey program. Wenner Bread Products, a Long Island-based company, is transforming a vacant building in New Brunswick into a commercial bakery that will be home to 250 employees once the manufacturer completes its relocation to New Jersey. Sandoz, a division of Novartis and a global leader in the generic pharmaceutical sector, had considered a location in Pennsylvania for its headquarters, which includes 292 existing employees and the expected creation of 70 new jobs; the company ultimately leased more than 154,000 square feet of space in Plainsboro, property that had been vacant since 2013.

The title marked the franchise's third regular-season division championship in Team W-L PCT GB franchise history, winning the South Division in 2004 and the Western Division in 2010. This year, the Curve led the Altoona 74-66 .529 -- West for 96 of 140 games and took over sole possession of the top spot for good on August 22. The Curve won 10 of Bowie 72-68 .514 2.0 their final 16 games, including a regular-season-best five-game winning streak from August 20-24. Altoona clinched the Western Division regular-season title with a walk-off win over Harrisburg on September 4 and a loss by Bowie at Akron 69-71 .493 5.0 Richmond that afternoon. The Curve advanced to the ELCS with a three-game sweep over the Bowie Baysox in the Erie 65-75 .464 9.0 Western Division Series. The end of the academic year is a time at which we pause to acknowledge the achievements of students, faculty, staff, and alumni. It also marks a period of transition, as new graduates stand ready to meet the challenges of professional life, while retiring faculty and staff prepare for life after the rigors of the daily workplace. At commencement ceremonies in May 2006, Penn State Harrisburg conferred some 600 degrees, and another nearly 600 degrees a few months earlier at ceremonies in December 2005. These numbers are particularly significant as we celebrate the college’s 40th anniversary this year. Penn State Harrisburg’s first graduating class, those students who began when the campus opened in 1966 and graduated in 1968, included 12 students. Clearly, the idea for a campus in the capital city four decades ago has proven to be a good one. The proof? The nearly 32,000 graduates Penn State Harrisburg, the Capital College, has added to the University alumni roster. Our April 18 Donor Recognition Dinner recognized those whose philanthropy helps students either directly through scholarships, or indirectly through the donation of resources to enhance campus programs and facilities.
